APPOINTMENT WITH RHEUMATOLOGIST

Hi All,

Have been back to Doctor this morning and have an appointment with a Rheumatologist on the 18th Oct. I have been resisting this but have come to my senses as the pain is very depressing as you all know, I tried to do my profile but it disappeared. I am not au faire with computers. I am a married lady with 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren residing in the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia.

Up to now I have been in good health, only hiccup was a total knee replacement about 18 moths ago. So we will see how this pans out.

Good morning Cheshy. Good luck with everything. It's not quite 18 months since PMR landed for me, but reading the information and advice on this board has helped so much and I hope it does the same for you.

Sitting here on a rather grey rainy morning, more like late October than September, Mornington Peninsular sounds so sunny!

Hi Mai45.

It's not sunny at the moment and we are desperate for our weather to improve.

Looking forward to sitting in the sun.

Hi Cheshy72,

Do have another go a doing your profile. You need to ensure you go to the bottom of the page and Save it.

If all else fails, get your grandchildren to help - whatever age they are!

Hi Dorset Lady, that's a good idea. I tried twice and then became frustrated. I will def have another go at it.

Thanks.

Hope all goes well with your appointment. The advice I have found here has been fantastic. Daughter has just returned to UK after 3 1/2 years on Gold Coast and 3 years on Mornington Peninsula now back home in North Derbyshire. 🙃🙂 Now convinced she will never feel warm again.

Thanks for your good wishes. My daughter in law is English and left because she suffers terribly from the cold. They have been married 11 yrs and living in Melbourne, Victoria. Still too cold and so moved to The Sunshine Coast, Qld 2 winters ago and love it. I am so jealous as every day weather in Brisbane is 25, 26,28 all through their winter. In Melbourne it is 12, most days. The down side is humidity in the summer. So I feel for your daughter. However it is Spring here and gradually warming up.

When daughter and OH moved (his job) noticed on Skype she was wearing a fleece top - it's freezing she said it's only 19 degrees! Tshirt weather here. 😊

Same for us - need fleeces at 19C if there is no sun. Starts to feel warm at 22-23C!

My trip to Melbourne in the middle of September a few years ago brought torrential rain and 4C! They were saying ski-gear to go and see the penguins. As Melbourne was sandwiched between Sydney and Uluru that hadn't been included in the packing...
