Hi

Yes its something I have complained about for a long time and now aware it was also the a problem for the 3 years PMR went undiagnosed .

I have had breast scans and everything and although I have a cyst draining it made no difference.

It can hurt for a few days or hours then nothing

Even stopped wearing underwired bras to see if that helped it has a bit

Posted on here a while ago and many said they had same problem

However suggest you ask your GP about it to be on safe side

Thank you for your reply! Breast pain is always upsetting.

I feel like I need more prednisone, not less, after tapering down. Will have Mammography today.

Yes I have breast pain and sensitivity and have had since before my PMR diagnosis. I cannot find a comfy bra. I think it is a PMR symptom. I am on oral Prednisalone. The symptom is much less troublesome than in the past. The fat distribution on the back does not help with bra fitting!!

Just in the past few weeks I have found a sports bra that is pretty comfy, but it too gets tight by the end of the day...fluid? The sports bra does not give the best "profile" under a shirt, but I definitely can't go without a bra either!

I have reduced from 15mg to 10mg over the last 5 months and have had awful tenderness and breast pain having terrible trouble finding a comfy bra......never been able to wear under wired as my breasts have always been very tender ever since my children were born in the 70's. ....have regular checks.....it has definitely intensified since I started on 'pred'

Maybe I am just having withdrawal symptoms from the prednisone...3-/2 years on prednisone is quite a while not to expect an adjustment with my hormone replacement and my thyroid med...and getting older😊 thank you for your input!

I have one spot in my right breast that hurts. The pain generally coincides with more shoulder tenderness on the same side. That is the shoulder more affected by PMR.

A couple of other things you might consider is your HRT can certainly cause breast tenderness and so can caffeine. So you might also want to reduce your caffeine it if you drink it.

You are right about the HRT, I am on a very low dose, but have not wanted to cut back on that too much since I am tapering the prednisone and taking the Actemra. I have a 1/2 cup of caffeine in the am. So complicated!

However, I did have a Mammography, 3-D Mammography and an ultra-sound. Seems the pain was is muscle

Pain under my armpit, radiating to the breast. Is this myofascial pain?

It could be - referred pain from nerves being irritated by the tight muscles.
