Happy Easter everyone, waking up to this view from my lounge helps enormously with this PMR journey. My good old hubby has done a lot of the spade work this year, while I just stand, point and do the occasional prune!!! Lol😉😉😃😃😃

I have a different view this morning, staying at son's and can just hear the waves breaking on the sea shore, along with the gulls dawn chorus!
Went out to lunch yesterday- belated double birthday celebrations - had to fight our way through the throngs of Broadchurch fans -abandoned cars along narrow country lanes - nightmare. Still, good for the local economy I guess.
Unfortunately, left the grandchildren's Easter eggs at home - so will have to improvise! Still have a bit of Pred head!

Lovely! Managed to do a couple of hours myself, yesterday, with some proper digging. No real ill effects, so far, but even if I ache, it'll be worth it for the sense of achievement and mental well-being, after a couple of dark months.

My husband's out there right now digging and lumping compost about so I can go out and poke around a bit with my plants and get the credit later! Normally I'm out there doing that but this year, I will have to sit on my hands and be patient.
Can't seem to be able to attach a photo but the garden is romping away with flowers side by side normally separated by a month or two. The lilac will be finished next week and the swallows haven't even turned up yet. Praying for rain as not had any for 5 weeks.
I think the swallows have decided to stay here a bit longer than usual!!! We've had a good 3 weeks of late spring/early summer already and now there is snow and a hard frost forecast for Wednesday which I imagine isn't going to do the apples and vines any good at all...
Just saw one half an hour ago! Told it to go South again as we also have a couple of sub zero nights this week. Trying to decide which plants I should fleece and which might survive.
I follow the British Trust for Ornithology cuckoo project where they tag cuckoos in the UK. It's great watching their migratory path and waiting with bated breath to see if they make it across the Sahara. Anyway, it's worth a look if anyone has time on their hands and wants to watch Spring unfold.
The lilac isn't out here yet, you must be further south. Hubby messing with the veg down the bottom of the garden. I do what I can when I feel up to it!! Today , I'm cooking for the family.😃😃
South East. We came back from the Derbyshire yesterday and they were about three weeks behind. Quite a difference in just a three hour drive.
It is always quite amazing here - a half hour drive can take you from high summer and 25C down in the valley to nearly winter and skiing up the mountain! Though I have to say - I have never seen the strip of piste running through quite such green meadows as we saw this morning! They are usually sort of brownish when we're a bit short on the white stuff!!!!

Hmm, not so far, but even an hour or two more inland and you have more extremes than we do. Judging by the weather news. The only extreme we get is drought. The skies darkened today and I got quite excited, but then we got about six drops. Things are now wilting and this blasted Pred means I can't go round with lots of cans of water. Anyway, roll on fete season; it'll rain constantly from then on.
Think you can only attach a photo when you actually originate a post. Unless anyone else knows differently?

Beautiful view you have York54. Nice to have a hubby to do the spade work. Gardening is a passion of mine and not even PMR would stop me going out there to potter most days. Easter Greetings ! x

It'll be a beautiful, sunny day in the Okanagan Valley in BC, Canada today just right for the Easter Egg Hunt.
Not much flowering yet. I cleaned my shed yesterday. Not much else, but still I'm doing things. Some flowering lilac would be nice. Here the Forsythia is starting to blossom in warm and sheltered spots.

After several days of sunny skies, and even being the warmest place in the country, we have grey skies and chilly winds today. But there are crocuses and snowdrops, and it's been a good spring for bird sightings. Yesterday we saw a bald eagle being mobbed by seagulls and some smaller birds. Another day I heard an unusual call, and saw a rosy coloured bird flying into some shrubbery. Think it must have been a female cardinal. They've been nesting in NS for some years now, but it's the first I've seen. 🐦
I guess with those bird names, you aren't in the UK then! If we had either of those in our garden we would be besieged by hundreds of twitchers hoping to see them.
I too love my garden and it is the saddest loss to not be able to do more than a few minutes at a time. My husband doesn't have the same passion as I do but right now with last years planting and the birds coming back with all their antics, keep us both amused. Spring spells hope and it's just what we PMR sufferers need, hope. Easter Blessings to all. Jan 🕊
Ah yes, 'helping' husbands. I have to be very grateful but I wince when I see him doing my jobs for me. His mulching was so enthusiastic that I nearly lost a load of plants, saved by a friend who went round exhuming them all. I can put up with washing up not being to standard but my babies are a different matter!
Snap!! It's heartbreaking isn't it "helping husbands" hah!
I would love to wake up to that view York, it's beautiful! Can you send your hubby to my house 😂😂 tell him his hard work has paid off, not just making the garden nice but also giving his lucky wife the feel good factor😊 Happy Easter to you both and enjoy your garden.
What a lovely garden. We moved 2 yrs ago, just before PMR started, and the garden is bigger than the last one. Hubby doing most of the work even though he's a bit wobbly himself. I can't get down to do the weeding but manage the raised beds and last week planted up the hanging baskets. Hopefully will manage a bit more this year than last.
I just do what I can Marcimay and have learned to just do short stints or I seize up!! Enjoy your raised beds I bet they look lovely!!

In Scotland, we've had too much snow so garden still looks very sad. Not as sad as me though thinking about "guiding" my husband through garden chores I usually always do but am not quite up to this year 😑
We had snow a week ago but apparently the beast from the east is returning!! Hopefully it will miss us 👍👍
