How soon to begin a reduction after holiday?

I have been waiting for the holidays to be over to begin next reduction but wondering if I should wait until holiday fatigue is over but I had fatigue before the holidays! Plan to go from 12.5 to 11.5 using the dead slow approach. Any advice please and thanks to all.

Bunnymom, if you feel well apart from the fatigue, and you feel relaxed with any stresses of Christmas behind you, then hopefully your planned reduction should go ahead smoothly. The beauty of the slowly slowly method of reducing is that you can pause at any point along the way if you feel any little niggles surfacing. Just ensure that you always set aside a stress-free week or so surrounding the start of any reduction and you should be fine.

I just want to share what I am experiencing this may help you. Currently was on 30mg of prednisone in the coarse of 2 weeks leading into Christmas it is reduced to 27mg. My fatigue is back, legs have no strength, my shoulders are hurting.....began taking Tramadol again which I was completely off. The pain is back in my hip cradle. If it were me wait......let the holiday fatigue settle down a bit.

Do it in smaller bites Nancy - the combo of adjusting to the change in dose and the illness can be too much for many people and the withdrawal discomfort is so like the illness you don't know where you are.

Ok, makes sense...plus I do need to go more slowly typical of me to hurry and "fix"

Speed doesn't work in PMR - we say all the time, if you don't learn anything else with PMR you will learn patience!
