Go see GP tomorrow and feeling really drained.

Hi everyone, my family doctor is finally back tomorrow so I will be seeing her and discussing all the symptoms, just hope I can make myself clear. Quick question, do any of you find if it is extremely humid and a thunder storm, does it make you feel more exhausted and achey and weak?

Write down a few notes before you go. I find if I don't do that I inevitably forget something, and often it's something I consider fairly important.

I think humidity and changes in air pressure affect most people to some extent, sick little bunnies more than most I expect.

Good luck tomorrow!

Hi Mysaryk, I totally agree with you that the weather does play a big part in how most of us feel, especially with this awful disease, and if the pressure is high or a storm is coming the pain is intensified. Should be enjoying the warm weather but the humidity makes it unbearable in more than one way.

Good luck at the doctors, hopefully she can give some advice to help you. xx

Hi - I absolutely agree about the hot weather. I used never to have enough of it, when everyone else was wilting I was thriving, but now its like having a flare up, absolutely exhausted and considerably more pain, really have to pace myself and say no to just about everything - yet another little PMR 'learning curve ! Good luck with the GP.

The hot weather helps the pain in my poorly arthritic knees. I have noticed that I get wiped out quickly if its hot and humid and end up just resting on hot days as I have no energy to do anything. Getting used to a different normal these days. I am down to 14mg if Pred from my starting dose of 30mg in March. I write everything down for my go visits as I get there and get stressed or blank out so I think its a great idea. Hope you get on OK. My GP has just retired so I am "training" one of her colleagues, so far so good :) thanks to this site.

Yes, it has been very hot and humid in Atlanta and I have been taking a two hour nap daily. On 15mg since April. I do exert my own "showers' twice a day - sweating at 11 and 2 but only from my neck up. Horrible.

hi @misaryk, and the answer is yes. a big YES. i'm just wiped out and ache all over in this hot humid weather. i went out with my dog last night, and felt the cooler low humidity air was such a pleasure, that i felt like a whole person again. it was wonderful. a few minutes before i felt like i was dying. so it wasn't me it was the crap weather we have been having. couldn't sleep and couldn't keep my eyes open either. but at least now i know what is making me feel so lousy. there is HOPE!

To answer your question - yes. Weather can really knock me sideways - I'm a better weather forecast than the TV (hardly difficult I know but I can get 3 days ahead right more often than they can!). Hot or cold and dry is OK, hot and humid is awful. It makes the hot sweats even worse.
