You could probably get an emergency supply from your pharmacist. They are allowed to prescribe. Once you are more used to pred, you'll find it easy to be organised. I have a box divided into compartments for the days of the week, to be sure I take the correct daily dose - important when tapering.
I would certainly try and get replacements NOW if you are taking steroids, although you may have been taking them for a short enough time not to have adrenal problems if you just stop. If this happens in the future you will not be able get away with it, so make sure you know where they are!
If you have only been taking them for 2 weeks you will be safe missing doses. After 3 weeks adrenal insufficiency kicks in. If you explain to your pharmacy who dispensed I'm sure they would issue a few days to ride you over, but don't stress about it if they say no, you will be safe. As piglet the mentioned once your established on Prednisolone you won't be so lucky. You may experience an increase of pain if you do have to omit, but no other issues. Take care x
Just missing a couple of days pred pills at the very beginning is quite likely to result in the pain coming back. It also depends what you are taking and what for. You probably won't come to much harm missing pred for a day or two but it could be very uncomfortable - and if it is GCA it is very risky.
You can always get emergency supplies from a pharmacist if you present your refill list. That is also one of the benefits of always using a reasonably small local pharmacy if you have one - and an independent one is always best.
It is a very good idea to have a secure place to keep a second set of tablets - checking the use-by date regularly and using and replacing them as appropriate. And especially important if you are going on holiday - one set in your handbag, one set in your checked luggage and one set in a travel partner's hand luggage as belt, braces and velcro!
