We will discuss possible placement of a pleural catheter for drainage, possible
pleurodesis
. And something new: turns out a lot of the chest pain (and breathlessness?)

pleurodesis and air travel
Has anyone having a
pleurodesis
used air travel? What was your experience? I had a
Pleurodesis
4 years ago and because of pain when going to higher altitudes, I have avoided anything over 4000 ft. I have also avoided air travel.

It would have helped to exercise my arm and shoulder following lung surgery in order to avoid frozen shoulder
I had chest tubes,
pleurodesis
, pleurectomy, lung resection, etc. (excuse misspelling.) I felt pain and discomfort after the surgeries so I didn’t move as much as perhaps I should have. Developed a frozen shoulder which hurt a lot.

Pleural drain infection
I had a
pleurodesis
last week which has not worked, I am actually draining more fluid each day following the procedure. My team intended to remove my drain later this month but I do not want them to do this now. Any similar experiences or suggestions welcome.

Post-pleurodesis pains?
I had a VATS
pleurodesis
done on both my lungs 4 years ago when I was 16 (both happened 3 months apart from eachother) after spontaneous pneumothoraxes. Both surgeries went fine and they haven't collapsed since.

Ongoing lung issues after Pleurectomy; pain, bubbling, fatigue 17 year old..Help!
My son (17yrs) has had spontaneous pneumothorax on both lungs and has had a pleurectomy with bullae removed by VATS on left lung and
pleurodesis
by VATS on Right lung. Right lung was last year and left year before (there was a staple leak 10 days after that surgery however seemed to resolve).

Pleurx catheter?
I had a
pleurodesis
just under 3 months ago. It hasn't worked as I had hoped. I am not sure if I am a candidate for a pleurx catheter as it seems the fluid buildup in my lungs is slow, at least for the time being.

Avastin, Metformin and a Pleurodesis-
I had to have a
pleurodesis
to address the pleural effusions. I was not a good candidate for a pleural catheter. I was the first Avastin patient (for my doctor) to be given a pleuraldesis. It makes recovery more challenging but so far it is working.

Pleurodesis?
A
pleurodesis
, continued thoracentesis or a catheter. the question is who's had what and how has it worked for them and how much of an impact does it have on daily life?

Just introducing myself
I spent most of last year on various chemotherapy regimes, interspersed with a second chest drain and
pleurodesis
procedure which so far has stopped the cavity refilling. I have disease on my liver capsule, diaphragm, outer stomach lining, various spots in my abdomen & a large tumour in my ileum.

Roller coaster
It was decided to do a pleurectomy on the left side of my chest and a
pleurodesis
under a general. This completely took it out of me and recovery took longer than expected.

Pleural effusion
Hi ladies Just wondering if anyone out there has had a pleural effusion and had it drained and a
pleurodesis
done. I have just had it done and was expecting to be able to breath normally once the fluid was drained.

Up in the air
I did have an appointment last month for a
pleurodesis
but they had to give my bed away. I haven’t rescheduled as I have been so busy with mum and my breathing has been manageable

LOGS Trial Latest
I am seeing the Pleural team on Monday and my oncologist was going to write to them asking if
pleurodesis
was a possibility. For now my oncologist feels I am better off continuing with the trial.

Pleurodesis following valve replacement surgery - supporting a close friend
Eventually a
pleurodesis
was carried out. My friend is 62 and has other health conditions. Does anyone have experience of this type of complication after valve replacement surgery?
