Pudendal neuralgia and contraception

I'm wondering if any females with pudendal neuralgia have experienced pain with use of a copper coil.

I cannot use tampax as I have figured out the pain is worsened. So I'm guessing a coil will ha e thasame effect.

If anyone has had a coil and suffering with PN id love to hear from you. Thanks

Hi Hecs,

I haven’t used the copper coil myself nor do I have PN but I do have endometriosis, adenomyosis and IC and have used the mirena coil which is smaller than the copper coil. I personally experienced pain but many many women with and without pelvic pain of any type love it! Reactions to medications are so individual I personally would suggest trying it and if it’s too painful you can always have it removed. Is there any reason you are having the copper coil? The mirena does contain progestin but because it’s implanted into the uterus the effects are felt local whereas the pill would have more systemic side effects
