Help Needed

Hello. F 58. I have had severe pelvic pain for many years now. It took becoming incontinent and seeing a urologist to find out. then I went weekly to a PT where she used a gloved finger to loosen my pelvic muscles. Before long my state insurance stopped paying for it. She gave me a few lower back exercises and that is it. I was an active lady before this and when I first started getting pain I tried everything, Drs that had no idea, tests and xrays etc. Now I know what I have. I have no extra funds. I am looking for suggestions what I can do at home to help. Please anything. I will try.

Hello I use a book titled Heal Pelvic pain by Amy Stein go to the library and check it out and if it helps then buy it...I was on the sofa for 1 and 1/2 years in pain I did the p/t as well and it helped but this book has changed my life I am now able to sit (not on hard surfaces) and live life I still have pain but it is manageable and I refuse to go back to the dr.'s they didn't help me at all..i hope this is helpful

Thank you so much for writing! I just ordered the book on Amazon. Have you ever tried the Intimate Rose Pelvic Wand? I am thinking of getting something like that but am looking for some suggestions here.

Good Morning I too did the P/T on and off for 2 years and yes it did help and she showed me how to use the crystal wand (I think it is the same thing you are speaking of) it helped very much I had pelvic floor muscle spasms I no longer use it because I don't need it ... I only used it with her direction so if you can call your P/Tist and ask her advise ... again the best thing for me are the stretches in the book that you have already ordered I also incorporated yoga the DVD I used is Your Pace Yoga: Relieving Pelvic Pain by Dustienne Miller....I have combined the two the stretches in the book and the yoga and have my own routine that I do at least once a day..if I don't do it then my pain starts to come back...I have found that you have to do it every day...I do hope this helps you what are you taking for pain and are you sleeping at night....are you in the USA? if you want you can private message me Take care

Hi again. I have read the book and I wish it had more pictures. I am doing the massage and some of the beginning exercises. There are some I cant do like the squats so I have adjusted the exercises to what I can do. I wish there was a Youtube video I could follow. I also am having a hard time understanding the outer massage. The food part was easy because I already eat those foods and I think the ILU massage is so helpful.

Yes, I would like to private message you but how do you do that?

Thanks, Kat

Hi the pain is like being in labor with back labor too. it feels like a hot poker 2 by 4 is being jammed up inside me and it radiates out to the thighs, butt, back and stomach. and in my stomach it feels like something twisting like a towel being wrung out also giving pain.

It is horrible I am trying anything I can at home to help.

What about your pain? is there anything you do to help it?

What pelvic surgeries have you had done in the past?

How many children have you birthed? Were the births natural or C-section?

I ask because every surgery leaves scar tissue and adhesions. Maybe a piece of bowel has adhered to scar tissue.

Do you have endometriosis? The blood can travel within the pelvis and grow around bowel, a ureter, etc.

Metal clips used in tubal ligations can migrate in the pelvis. They’ve been known to migrate into the bladder, rectum, behind the vagina and into bowels and cause terrible chronic pain.

A clip of mine migrated to my rectum, stretched a nerve and made it get stuck between ligaments ( like a vice grip ) and onto fascia. It caused a very painful life threatening neuropathy,

Doctors saw the clip on an MRI and didn’t report it. I wonder why?
