Pudendal Neuralgia

Hi everyone. I haven’t been on here for a long time posting but I have been reading all the questions and answers. I have suffered from ON for the past 8 years and in that 8 years have tried everything. All sorts of medication, injections, infusions and Pelvic Physio.

A procedure I had done in February at my local hospital in the UK lead me to making a complaint after a consultant told me she thought my PN was all psychological and she hurt me when she stuck the speculum in. She very much regretted saying that after my complaint was made

That occasion led me onto wanting to get more awareness training and research into the condition but I can’t doesn’t it on my own

In the New Year I plan to get back to my mission But in the meantime if there is anyone out there that is interested in spreading the word of PN I’d be really interested

It’s not in your head. How rude of her. I’m so glad you lodged a complaint. People are SO ignorant!

Where do you live? Dr. Gareth Greenslade in Bristol knows about PNE and pudendal neuralgia.

BTW, I had successful decompression surgery of my right rear pudendal nerve and right inferior rectal nerve. This almost killed me from severe sleep deprivation and uncontrolled severe nerve pain.

Your consultant is cruel. She should be fired!

Sadly I think Dr Greenslade has retired he was very kind and empathetic. I agree there is a massive lack of knowledge and understanding around this ghastly condition. Wishing you all the best on your quest.

Hi, I read that you had successful decompression surgery. Please can I ask you where you had it performed. Thank you so much.

It was performed in 2011 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Thanks for that - I’m in the U.K but would like to know which technique your surgeon used. It’s heartening to know about someone, who had successful decompression surgery. Thank you!

He went through my right buttock. It was the transgluteal approach.

I wanted to ask how they diagnosed your inferior rectal pudental nerve entrapment...was it a special nerve MRI? also what were your exact symptoms...and what meds did you try?
