Hi,
In 2016 I was having terrible period pains which to me was the norm but I never forget feeling awful back ache that was gradually getting worse, I used to run tonnes but this pain stopped me from doing my runs as it was awful!?, one morning when I woke up I was led on my back and looked at my tummy and saw a lump at one side? Scared the hell otta me as I knew I wasn’t pregnant as we’ve never had much luck in that department apart from our gorgeous 19 yr old daughter that took us a while to conceive but we are one of the lucky ones. As I pressed on the lump I could feel it moving in my back passage!!, I ignored it for two weeks and it seemed to disappear??? But again I led on my back and this time it was noticeable larger I told my husband and we both said it needs to be seen. I went to the doctors the day after and she referred me to the hospital the next week. I had two scans abdominal and trans vaginal and they confirmed I had three large fibroids. Never knew they existed until I told my mum and she said she had them too in her younger years and had very heavy bleeds!, because mine were quite large and causing me quite a bit of pain as I couldn’t poo properly and they had grown so fast within a couple of weeks they they decided to remove them so glad I did two the size of tennis balls and one the size of a small melon!!! No wonder I had so much discomfort with all them squeezing up-to each other!, previous to these I had an ovarian cyst removed which was also the size of a small melon and contained hair and teeth cells 😳😳 the operation for my fibroids knocked me back a while as it was a big operation with the risk of bleeding, but 3 yrs on I’m glad I had it done but now I feel I have them returning which I’m not looking forward too as this time my symptoms are different I have very heavy periods now and terrible pain? I feel for everyone of you these little blighters are resilient.
