Back pain, pelvic pain and heavy dragging feeling after hysterectomy and bladder repair.

A year ago I started getting lower back pain, pelvic pain in right side and a dragging feeling as if my insides were falling out. I knew I had a bladder prolapse for years and was told I needed a bladder repair and hysterectomy due to prolapse. I had my op 6 months ago but still have the same symptoms. My gp is at a loss but has referred me for a ct scan on my bladder. Surely I should be over my operation now? Or am I doing too much. When I went back to gyni 12 weeks post up he said I was fully recovered and the pain must be due to something else. Has anyone else gone through this?

Have you considered looking into seeing a specialist women’s pelvic health physio. I’ve just started seeing one as I have a number of chronic pelvic pain conditions and I am hopeful they may be able to help as my pelvic floor muscles are so tight and it could be making everything worse xx

Hi Catness, thanks for your reply. I have been referred to a physio twice in six months. The first time I saw a young lad who did not help at all. I am now seeing a lady who is sure it's my pelvic floor muscles. I have been doing various exercises for three weeks now and I am feeling a little bit better so I am hoping this will work. I am also seeing a bladder specialist in July. The only time I have been totally free of pain in the past year was when I was using oestrogen pessaries for 4 weeks prior to my operation but this may be a coincidence. Good luck with your recovery.
