Pelvic pain, muscle pain, joint pain

I went to the hospital last week with an uncomfortable pain on the right-hand side of my abdomen. Suspecting appendicitis, the doctor sent me straight to A&E, where I got a urine test. Turns out I had an infection and got sent home with a prescription of Co-Amoxiclav (antibiotics).

Two days after starting the treatment I got a stabbing pain in my legs, so painful I could not walk. Went to the A&E two days later, where a new doctor told me that the previous diagnosis was wrong and she could not believe I got prescribed those antibiotics. She suggested Chlamydia. I have been in a relationship for a year and a half and I am 100% sure that my boyfriend did not cheat on me; he doesn't have any symptoms.

Is it possible that I contracted Chlamydia at the beginning of the relationship but only having symptoms now? Does it mean that the infection spread and there are going to be serious implications?

I am getting tested for STI next week but I am seriously worried it could also be something else; I have VERY irregular and painful periods (sometimes I don't get periods for six months or more).

Sorry for the long message. Any words of advice?

Thank you.

Although I dont know or have experience with this, if I were you I would get checked out for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and blood clotting. If i were taking a guess I'd guess it could possibly be that. Maybe check out symptoms online then ask your doctor. I really doubt it's chlamydia and wonder why the doctor would think that. I've never heard of leg pain as a symptom of chlamydia. I dont think there's usually symptoms with that.

Hi there

I'm not saying it is or isn't but could be a burst cyst on your ovary which could explain your irregular periods as well as could be pcos or similar I was rushed in with suspected appendicitis and it was a dermoid cyst that had attached to the outside wall. It can affect your nerves in your back, groin and legs. Deep vein thrombosis is not impossible but it depends on if you have swelling or the pain is constant in your legs. If It ranges from a dull ache to really painful and shoots out from your side it's more likely a nerve problem, gyney condition like polycytic ovary syndrome or possibly ibs which causes cramps and affects the nerves. If your concerned about about potential colts take aspirin instead of ibuprofen and if they haven't given you any pain relief you can alternate an anti inflammatory such as ibuprofen or aspirin don't take 2 anti inflammatorys one or other 3 times a day and pain relief every 4 following the max does it says in 24 on the packet if you are buying your own and paracetamol is not helping you can buy co-codamol over the counter I use this on my periods but be wary as it can make you groggy but it good when your in pain and can't sleep at night. Heat pads are good as well though might make you uncomfortable in this heat I hope this helps and I hope they find out what is going on soon 😊

Thank you for your reply. Last time I went to the hospital was because my legs were so in pain that I thought I had thrombosis, especially since my dad has been struggling with it for the past three years. The doctor said I didn't have any clots and there wasn't really any swelling; it was also in both legs which it's rare for a thrombosis. My pain comes and goes and affects mostly my groin and sometimes calves. I did think about a cyst or something related so I am going for an ultrasound soon. I really want to get to the bottom of this.

Thanks for your help :)

Also what happened to you after the discovered the cyst? Did you get surgery or treatment? Did it still affect your nerves afterward?

Sorry for so late a reply I've had problems with internet. I had surgery to have the cyst removed but it still causes pain and nerve problems but it could be a combo of my conditons as have pcos, fibroids and ibs currently been put on nerve blockers to see if that helps. Seems to help slightly 😊
