Just a quickie for those of you that asked me to you know how I got on with my first Physiotherapist.. to be honest I nearly backed out,but I'm glad I never.

Firstly she gave me a better examination than any doctor has given me. Bit embarrassing but she was so nice and confident that she put me at ease.

Well I have multi health issues, and age against me,but she said she thinks she could help me. She definitely made me come away with some hope. But I felt quite ill when I came home, but I think that was due to nerves and she put me through the mill a bit.

I think I would recommend anyone suffering from pelvic pain to give it a try.

She said I was exsteamly bloated below my belly button, and my pelvic muscles were really tight. So yes I will go again because I don't think it matters how old you are,you shouldn't have to be suffering in pain. I have enough to deal with, and I would like to go on holiday,a night out,the park with my grandchildren, just normal things that most people take for granted, that I can't cope with, because of PAIN.

Hi there. I am happy to hear you felt good about the physio consult. Did she mention the name of any muscles or nerves or connective tissue that she feels may be trigger points?

Epsom salt baths calm muscles. You might like to have one sometimes. Are you taking a supplement like Cal-Mag which calms the entire system?

Hang in there.

in reply to Konagirl60

Hi there Konagirl,I take enough medication without taking any supplements,I think as I have regular blood tests,if I needed supplements my doctors would let me know.( I hope). I bath a couple of times a week in Magnesium salts.

All she really said to me was my pelvic muscles were very very tight,my stomach below my belly button was really hard and severely bloated. But we'll see what comes from it. Like most folk on here I've had these problems that long I'll give anything a try. How are you doing?🍀

Hello. I still suffer neuralgia in my rectum and perineum on my right side. I feel it may be permanent.

My inferior rectal nerve was vice gripped by ligaments it had become stuck to. I started feeling the rectal sensations in 2006. It only happened when I was sitting and driving in my car commuting home from work. (34 miles each way ). It always went away when I got out of the car.

I had a very active job where I walked fast, stooped over my groin every shift and also bent over my groin to lift boxes weighing 8-12 pounds up off of the floor. I was also extremely athletic. I was an avid gardener and raker. I hiked all over the world. The ligaments became over stretched and they ‘juxtaposed’.In that condition, the nerve could become adhered to them.

The nerve was not released from the ligaments and fascia it had stuck to until I hired and paid for a registered nurse consultant. She was able to speak with the only neurosurgeon that releases peripheral nerves in my province ( at the General Hospital where I devotedly worked in the Laboratory for 30 years ). He agreed I should go to Minnesota where a surgeon could release the nerve. No neurosurgeon is trained in Canada to do the nerve release surgery.

I gather from the time the ‘indolent’ injury began until the time I could no longer sit and lie down was about 2 years. My GP was way off thinking it was IBS. I always ate healthy. I was not bloated. I was not constipated ever. My occult blood samples were normal. No blood was in my stools. Any medication she gave me was useless.

It was decided at an annual check up in the fall of 2006 that I should have a colonoscopy because I was nearing 50. BIG mistake! Ten months after that procedure was done, I could no longer sit at all. On the requisition she wrote tenesmus. That IS NOT what I had.

No specialist would help me when this all started. None of them believed the rear part of my hair thin pudendal nerve was being pinched. I was slandered by my Pain specialist. She tried to say that I had been with several lovers since my divorce in 1994 and she believed my injury was due to promiscuity. My GP accused me of smoking because my C-reactive protein was high. ( they are cancer sticks and a complete waste of money.....she knew I did not smoke ! ). Talk about being ‘ victimized’!

I was as a result of my medical care silenced, misdiagnosed with post herpetic neuralgia, mistreated, abused, abandoned, left sedated and left to die in agony. I managed my case and I did the advocacy. I have never worked so hard to save my life. No doctor in British Columbia cared.

The whole time this was happening, the doctors knew a migrated metal Filshie clip from my tubal ligation of 1998, was on my rectum. The other one was embedded in ileum bowel. They refused to do a laparoscopy to remove them. Can you imagine the pain I had every time the ligaments were vice gripping my nerve and the clip! It was terrible burning pain and agony! I did not sleep normally for 9 years.

I am feeling better than ever because both clips are finally out. The rectal clip was removed last June 2017 and the ileum bowel clip was removed on March 5 this year. My body became so inflamed. It is still trying to calm down.

My system was left in flight and fright mode for ten years. I lost some sense of smell and taste permanently from being given incorrect medications. My heart is weak and muscles have atrophied. I have had high blood pressure for ten years. My GP neglected me. Last year I had fatty liver disease from using diluted Ketamine nasal spray for pain. I have weaned off of it. THC oil is helping.

I lost my career of 31 years. I could no longer raise my son ( who was an immature 17.5 year old young man with no father ( my ex abandoned him emotionally and financially ) as I developed a severe organic brain disease. My house is still mine due to the hundred of thousands of dollars I had saved for my retirement over a 31 year period. I have a work pension and I am on long term disability until I am 65.

I feel I should sue the doctors BUT there is no justice in Canada. Doctors are getting away with murder. They caused the opioid crisis. They do not believe non cancer pain is real. They honestly believe it is emotion based. What nonsense! Women are not respected by old school doctors!

I had been divorced for 5 years when I asked for my tubal ligation. I never liked the birth control pill. I was a mature woman of 41 when I had the tubal done. Judt because I was sexually active but unmarried, I was thought of as a bad person?! I got that tubal to start a relationship.i was with the same lover for ten years! Doctors have NO RIGHT to judge a patient. We know our bodies...they do not! I was fully aware of STD’s and I was NOT promiscuous. I am very lucky to be alive, I almost died at the end of 2010.

How are you? Do you grasp what I have written? Honestly?

in reply to Konagirl60

Honestly Konagirl,I couldn't possibly grasp all you have written or gone through, but I do believe you. The reason I believe you is because I myself have had some real bad experiences with doctors/consultants/Pain specialist, that's both me and my husband.

I've been on a respirator twice, where my family was told I would not see the night through. The first time was the cause of doctors. I've had every medication known to man offered me,and two of them I'm still stuck on. I also had a Colonoscopy and the pain had me screaming, they now want me to have another, but there's no chance of that. I also had my gall bladder removed,as they thought that was the cause for my pain, another big mistake. The list goes on.

So you see I can see where your coming from with bad health care.As for a lot of your other health problems,I will hold my hands up and say no,I don't understand because I've never come across some of your problems. But that don't mean I can't truly empathise with you, with what you've been through, because I do. I've suffered with lots of health issues, but the pelvic pain I'm suffering is really the most debilitating pain I have,I've had it for 13-14yrs and I can't see me ever being free from it,simply because no one knows the cause really. But I do feel a small snippet of hope with this Physiotherapist she seems to know her stuff. I would give anything just for some relief of this pain. My health has gone downhill in the last 15-16yrs, and it's strange how we just take our health for granted ,until we no longer have it. So I hope I've answered you honestly, and as for how I am? I'm in pain, very tearful, quite low,and even though I have a family, and a husband, quite lonely. Because just like anyone who is suffering,no one apart from yourself knows your pain. I'm sending big hugs and kisses, and if I thought that would make your life a lot easier,I would send them all the time.

Take care of yourself, because no one else will.😥😘😘😘🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Keep up with the physio for now. Learn as much as you can. Then you can do the exercises at home by yourself. I understand your pain and wanting to be with your grandchildren and have a normal life. I am working with the pain instead of against it. A labour technique I learned when giving birth. You can do anything you put your mind to. Go girl. !!!’

in reply to airplane

Yes the Physiotherapist I have genuinely tries to help people, and that's the idea, that she can teach me exercises to do at home in time,so I don't have to travel to see her. But as you well know it's going beyond that pain barrier to get results. I wish you all the luck in the world, same as anyone suffering pain in some form or other. You take care.

I'm doing the best I can Lulu, thanks for asking. I got there last week but I felt unwell so she sent me home. But I'm keeping up with the stuff she's told me to do. But I must admit I've had a really bad week this week.

Lulububs in reply to

Not a good week. Same as u, i made mistake of having a sports massage through friends advice and to say it upset my body is understatement. It trapped my sciatic nerve so now not only pelvic pain i have sciatica!

My physio on holiday for month so i cant see anyone just case of resting up not easy when u have a full time job.

Hope it gets better for u...

in reply to Lulububs

Ice packs, are one of the best things for Sciatica brings the swelling down to release the nerve. My Physiotherapist on holiday to.

How dare they have a holiday ha ha! Where do u put icepack on the back?

As pain radiates into groin

in reply to Lulububs

Yes put the ice pack on the bottom of your back. That's where the sciatic nerve is trapped. My hubby had three weeks of pain',until a GP told him this,it brings the swelling down,to release the nerve.

Good luck.
