Obturator Internus

I've been seeing a pelvic floor therapist for about 6 months now with a little improvement but she says my obturator interns is like a rock in spots. Anyone have this and if so what have you done to get it to release? It is so very painful and prevents me from sitting and doing anything strenuous.

It took about 6 months before I saw any benefits from physio, so I wouldn’t give up yet. Are you on any meds? Has the physio given you exercises? Meditation, abdominal breathing, walking and gentle stretching seems to help me, but it all takes time I’m afraid. It’s very important to find a way to relax, difficult as that might seem. Have you come across the book, Heal Pelvic Pain by Amy Stein? Hope you find some relief soon.

I also had an a obdurator muscle that was agony, did everything to try and get improvement, including two years pelvic physio.

My life changed for the better with the monster walk, you can goggle this. Start slowly, if it is going to work you will notice quite quickly.

This has transformed my life.

Good luck,

When you say start slowly could you be more specific? I Also did you use a resistance band at all? This is an agonizing condition, i haven't been able to sit for quite some time now, so painful.

Wayne's I started using weaker resistance bands and just did a few stretches. Over time as my muscle started to stretch out I upped the level of band to a stronger one and gradually increased the number of stretches.

Although my life is far from perfect it is about a million times better than it was.

Hope this is helpful.
