I have had right side abdominal and pelvic pain for 7 or more years. I am 37 year old female. I have had a full hysterectomy at 30 due to ovarian cysts that had ruptured. I have had my galbladder removed, and appendectomy. I also have a history of colon polyps. The last being removed 2 years ago. Anyone have any suggestions??? I am exhausted all the time and tired of hurting. My labs are all negative or normal. Please help

I assume you’ve had an MRI and been given the all clear. The next step if you haven’t already tried would be a referral to a pain management specialist. You could also look at trying a low fodmap diet.

Hi,

I would look into seeing a women’s physiotherapist. If pelvic pain continues or starts after a hysterectomy especially one of the first ports of call should always be a women’s health physiotherapist. They are available on the NHS but the waiting times can be quite long so it might help to go private or see GP for an NHS referral so you can get the ball rolling and then see someone privately. It maybe that your have developed over tight pelvic floor muscles (PFD) on one side or you are suffering from a combination of both weak and tight muscles. See David’s post as that contains some useful suggestions. I hope this helps I hope this helps.

Phsiotherapy and pain management are good see your doctor as scar tisdue can hurt i also found out after along time of bein in pain that i had irritabel bowel as this can be brought on by stress and can be either constipation or the runs also maybe look into a trapped nerve/ scatica as the pain from either can spread through your back even to your arms and legs found it hurt my scar tissue in my stomach when i had it. I hope they find out what it is and you are better soon

You do not describe your pain, but pain like that could be a pelvic core injury, usually characterized by pain that gradually gets worse over a long period of time, gets better when you were not in motion, and much worse when you walk a lot and/or when you cough, sneeze, and/or do anything where you are crunching your middle, for example, sit-ups. It can be diagnosed by a specialist orthopedic surgeon, or specialist physical therapist, really, really knows what they are doing. Mine was diagnosed through some leg movements on the examination table, and confirmed with an x-ray and MRI. This was only after two other doctors and a prior PT failed to diagnose it properly, andinstead insisted that I had a “pelvic floor injury,” which is something very different. (“Pelvic Core injury“ used to be called a “sports hernia,” but that is a misnomer. Still, you can find information on the web about it under that name.)

I had a hysterectomy almost 3 years ago. Every test I had showed nothing!! I have all of your symptoms! I recently moved to Florida & was diagnosed with Pudendal Neuralgia. I am going for a nerve block on 3/28. Also, my vaginal muscles are so tight that i’m Having a trigger point injection there. We’ll see what happens. If the PN nerve block works, I will then be having a new procedure called RHEO. It is FDA approved. Only a handful of doctors do it. Luckily I have found one here in Orlando! They inject you with amniotic fluid & tissue & from what I understand, it helps to rejuvenate the nerve/nerves. Hope this helps. There’s a group on Facebook called Pudendal Neuralgia Hope. Check it out. You may find a lot of people just like you & me. No one should be in pain like this for so long! No one!
