Hi i'm contacting you on behalf of my 16 year old daughter. She has had crippling painful periods since puberty. She gets pain sometimes up to 10 days before her period then for its duration. Last year she tried 3 different versions of the pill as this was supposed to help but actually resulted in her suffering more pain more frequently. We consulted a gynecologist who was convince it was endometriosis so she had surgery but was told there was no sign. The gp has prescribed naproxen and co-codamol but the co-codamol makes her feel sick and neither actually help with the pain which radiates around her stomach and down her legs. Has anyone any ideas she is getting really fed up with the pain and lack of solution.
Thanks

Sorry to hear of your daughter's suffering. So unfair.
I wouldn't take co-codamols, because the codeine would make matters worse by causing constipation and nausea. If taking them I would suggest also taking Lactulose medicine and drinking lots of water.
I used to find Ibuprofen helpful. But, of course, it's either Naproxen or ibuprofen.
Has she tried paracetamol instead of the cocodamol?
Has her GP or Gynaecologist done any blood tests? Any immunology? I would keep on at GP and Gynaecologist until your daughter has a diagnosis.
Surely these symptoms call for further investigations?
