Fibroids Esmya Laproscopy

I have has pelvic pain for over a year now. I have been taking Esmya for several months and have had an appointment with gynae today, I have 4 fibroids and they have responded well to the treatment. They are not significantly large so Gynae doesn't think any further treatment of Esmya will be required (have had 2 cycles). He therefore doesn't think my pain is related to the fibroids and said it may be muscoskeletal and physio may help! My pain is worse around ovulation and bleeding. The pain is a stabbing burning type pain around ovary area. Does anyone think it sounds like Endo? He agreed to do a laproscopy as I said I would rather have that and know we have ruled everything gynae related out. Really happy to be getting this and if nothing is found then I will have to deal with that I guess.

Hi I'm Carla I'm 38years old. A year ago I had a miscarriage which is when I found out I had 4fibroids. Today I've just had an ultrasound and a CT scan. The doctor I saw about the results now want me to have a MRI scan for abetter look at the fibroids, he has suggested that after my results from the MRI come back he would like me to on esmya tablets to try to shrink them as I now have 5 of them all in the worse places he said. As I have a 5 cm fibroid by the cervix, he would like to shrink them all down and then try for tcrf or embolization or an myomectomy. I'm still kind of up in the air for my actual treatment plan but when I go back to see him after my MRI he would like me to go on the esyma. Please could you tell me of your experiences with as I've read they do help but I would really like to hear it from someone who has gone through taking them. I'm pretty much the same as you as I don't have heavy periods I didn't even know I had them untill I had my miscarriage. I'm sorry I can't help you with the laparoscopy. I had one of them years ago and I was told everything was fine. But that was 5years, but I do physio for along other health problems, which does help skittle with the everyday pain but not always a few days before my periods or for the first few days of it. I hope you could help with some info on the esyma. Good luck with all you are going through.

Hi, taking Esmya apparantly has reduced my fibroids by 25%. I have 4 fibroids but none of them very big.My gynae seemed pretty sure my pain was not coming from the fibroids and set about trying to prove that (in his words!) The 1st course of Esmya wasn't great, the first 3 weeks I felt dizzy, sick and in more pain and ended up going to a&e. However, it calmed down after that (must have got to work) and I didn't have anymore issues with it. I was worried when it came time for the break as I had read that some people had an increase in pain but I was fine. Overall, I would say it is very effective at shrinking the fibroids.

Hi I haven't been on this site for a while due to a death in the family but I'm still struggling with my fibroids. I have 5 with two of them being large at 5cm I was put on esmya for 3months and they seemed to b working as the one I could feel through my stomach went down slot. However as I neared the end of the 3month I was told I had to stop taking them as there had been reports that some women have had liver problems while taking them. I didn't get any symptoms while taking and I was hoping to go back on them for a second cycle as they were helping. Now I ve come of them I feel they are growing back and I haven't heard from my g.p or the hospital specialist as to what I have to do now. I was however refered to a IVF clinic with help of fertility as me and my partner would like to try for the baby we lost nearly two years ago. But when I asked the speclist at the clinic how IVF would be possible while I still have the fibroids I was told she wasn't worried about them. I was then asked to get a smear test done for their records but it wasn't possible due to the fibroids I have by my cervix so I don't understand why I'm not getting treatment to get rid of the fibroids before even looking in to IVF that I know we won't b offered due to the fibroids and my age. I've asked my g.p for advice but didn't really help. So I've contacted my hospital specialist but still not heard anything I don't know what to do now as they won't let me go back on the esmya tablets that were helping for a second cycle and I can't get in to see a specialist about surgery opinions. If any one can help with advice of what they done to get surgery preformed it will b very much appreciated.
