Only consider surgery as a very last resort. There wil be Excersises to do and it's important not to do lifting as this will exacerbate the problem. Also be careful not to stand for to long without moving around.

I would advise seeing a specialist women's health physiotherapist before considering surgery. Exercises can help. You may end up having surgery, but do lots of research and make you see a urogynaecologist that specialises in prolapse, not just an ordinary gynaecologist. Good luck.

Like rosepetal says, only think of surgery as a last resort. I had prolapse surgery nearly 8 years ago and ended up with pudendal nerve entrapment through the surgery and although rare, there are others on this site that this has happened to. As well as exercises you can buy an electronic pelvic floor exerciser for about £50. I advised a couple of friends of mine who had started having prolapse problems, if they coughed or sneezed, or if they lifted shopping they would pee. They've used this as they said you know this machine is doing the right exercises.

I don't mean to frighten but it worries me whenever I hear of women having prolapse surgery, please try all options first and if you do have to have surgery, I certainly wouldn't advise going private, as I did. go with the NHS.
