9cm cyst in pelvic area (right side)

Experienced some back, lower pelvic and some leg pain. Had an ultrasound done and was told I have a cyst in pelvic area (not attached to ovary). Seeing my Gynecologist tomorrow and I'm very worried. Anyone experienced something similar? I'm 43 years old and don't experience any symptoms of menopause as yet.

Been to Gynecologist and he did an ultrasound. He said it looks like a simple cyst filled with either blood or fluid. I also went for CA125 test and await my results. Will then decide on surgery. Still worried.

Will be having my operation tomorrow. Because my CA125 count was high (82), my doctor will be doing a laparotomy. Doctor suspects I have an endometrioma, but can't be sure. I am very nervous and really hope not to have a hysterectomy and my ovaries removed.

Thanks Sueboo. So relieved it was endometrioma. Now to recover from my operation.
