hi there, I'm new and from Australia. i been diagnosed as having Pelvic Congestion Syndrome and am due to have a hysto in October. i was curious to know if anyone else has had this and what their outcome was? Tia xx

it must be a relief to get a diagnosis.

can you tell everyone your symptoms and the method of diagnosis.

also what test and were you lying down or standing up.

Hi,

Just to let you know that hysterectomy is not a cure for pelvic congestion. There have been several papers published on this. In this condition it is the pelvic veins that are the problem. There is an RCT trial currently taking place in Manchester for this condition to find out whether blocking the veins is an effective treatment.

I had a total hysterectomy a year and a half ago and it didn't help at all, I'm sorry to say, and maybe made it worse. Now I've had bouts of severe, sharp pain that my dr thinks is nerve damage. It's very depressing to go through that and get zero relief. I hope yours has a better outcome.
