Blood test results

I am having pelvic investigations ongoing due to the pain I've been in for 4 weeks now. Rang Drs today and I have to book in with the Dr to discuss my liver blood test, does this mean there's something seriously wrong? Can not help but feel scared and panicky!

Hi Kazww, firstly I'm so sorry that you are in pain. It's draining and dispiriting , however I would be delighted if I was asked to go to my GP to discuss the results of a blood test as this probably means they have found something that could ( and I mean could) help resolve your pain. The human condition makes us think the worst most of the time, especially when an authority figure like a Dr calls. I'm not a Dr but if there was something seriously wrong they would have asked you in urgently. The fact you have time to post here, which is great, suggests there is time between your test results and your appointment. Go and see your Dr, it's unlikely to be critical, but whatever the result is it is much better to deal with it sooner. Good luck and let us know how you get on

I know you are right I'm just so scared, im usually fit and well to suddenly be in so much pain and unable to take the dog for a walk never mind go to work, all the swelling in my abdomen and pain in my hips and pelvis I just keep thinking it must be something really serious if I don't take the co codimol I'm in agony 😞 I'm hoping to get some answers on Thursday at the U.S. or back at the doctors on Friday but I've already had two weeks off work I'm not going to be better anytime soon am I? Xx do you know why you have pelvic pain as yet? How often do you get it? Are you able to work? Xxx

hi kazww.i appreciate what you are feeling as im exactly the same.im so scared too as not being given any answers.giving pain relief meds that do nothing for the pain seems the gps answer for everything.they must know there are several reasons why we have pain and /or swelling in a particular area but cos scans for eg don't show anything they conclude it is all in our heads.my pelvic pain is persistent from the time I get up which to me indicates something pressing on it,same with my stomach-from the time I get up

Anbuma3 thanks for your message how old are you please? Are you in constant pain what area is your pain in? Have you any swelling? Does it come and go? X

hi Kazww.i am 56.problems began in 2011, when symptoms struck with vengeance.d r did scans etc which all came back as "normal" ca125 was above normal range at 175.from 2012 onset of pelvic pain ,abdominal swelling and cough .being main 3.persistent pelvic and abdominal(mostly centre area -ribs/diaphragm) from time i get up til i go to bed.sore all around ribs including back.swelling from head to toe-scalp.neck,chest area, stomach, pelvis (most recent).legs and feet.everything is there all the time.

recent diagnosis of hiatus hernia diverticulitis duodenitis and gastritis,

persistent pelvic pain.persistent abdo swelling and poor appetite(bout 7 years) appetite getting worse-ie feeling full after few mouthfuls- diverticulitis, the fact that gps misdiagnose as IBS,assume its menopausal, all signs of OC.

doctors never accepted weight gain(3 stone) as abdominal and not due to diet as barely eat or able to eat ,yet still three years on they refuse to accept this.

Omg that is a very long time to have all theses issues never mind the worry, please go and ask for a second opinion to put your mind at rest even if nothing else what area are you in? Xx

i am seeing a female gp alongside my own who hasnt given me any support or reassurance it is nothing serious or any reason at all for my pain and symptoms.so I cant really go to another gp as they only read what my gp has written in my notes.i am in the northeast nr scottish borders.

Hi anbuma

I have read some of your posts and wanted to respond. It isn't nice when you feel that Dr's are not listening to you. From what I've read, you seem convinced that you have ovarian cancer and I'm sure your worrying is not helping your many symptoms/other conditions. Stress can do awful things to you and I for one have been in your position where you think the worse. I recently paid privately to see a gynaecologist when my gp refused so that I could speak to an expert. I know private consultations and scans are expensive but if you're that convinced you have something sinister, maybe it is something to think about and look into.

hi ethome,

thank you for replying .I do take on board your comments and what others say .my own gp hasnt accepted what I tell him.my lack of faith and trust in him began in 2012 after seeing 2 consultants who (1)told me "what i didn't have" and (2) wa s only concerned abotu weight and dieting but wouldn't accept my poor appetite and not acceptign thta i only ate breakfast and a small meal and that was all.my gp didnt support me in this. it took two years of having a cough which because my "chest was clear" he didn't investigate further.everythign was put down to fibromyalgia even tho the symptoms I had were not those of fibro.he has done nothing to reassure me it isn't anything serious and its the assumption of IBS and anything being menopausal when I don't have any of these.when I went to him with stomach problems his comment was "its your stomach" and that doesn't tell me anything.

why would i gain so much weight in one area and lose elsewhere if nothing wrong.!

If there are other causes for my symptoms( several members have suffered the same as me) then they haven't been considered.he ahs also said on few occasions "I dont know what something is" which doesn't tell me anything or reassure me in any way.
