Description: Synopsis: This is a Two Part show on using nutrition to help alliviate the symptoms of Endometriosis.This show will discuss the following: Endo & the diet connection,Strengthening the immune system with diet & lifestyle,Reducing pain with diet & lifestyle. Our Guest expert: Danielle Cook, MS, RD, CDE – Functional Medicine Nutritionist | With a Master’s Degree in Nutrition & Food Science, and a diverse background in the field of nutrition. Danielle has worked as an inpatient Clinical Dietitian, a Nutrition Support Specialist (specializing in tube & intravenous feedings), and a Diabetes Educator/Dietitian in an outpatient setting. She has taught classes at the university level including nutrition, upper level metabolism, environmental and world hunger, and graduate level dietetics. After contracting an illness while traveling, Danielle sought out several modalities of medicine in her journey back to wellness. On this journey she discovered functional medicine. It was this piece to the puzzle that helped her start to regain her health and wellness. Danielle is now specializing in functional, preventative nutrition. Your host & Pelvic Mesanger: Laurie Haughton was diagnosed with Endometriosis in 2006, she has been an active moterator in the online Endo community on FaceBook, and also co-facilitates the Ottawa Endometriosis Support Association, in Ottawa Ontario Canada. A professional equestrian, and photographer, with a back ground in public relations, shes an advid foodie & retro loving gal, who is fighting the battle to live her life to its full potential dispite "Endo" and is currently happy to say that the score is in her favor!
