Hi, I had endoscopy before PBC diagnosis and have hiatus hernia. I'm not sure what z-lines are though.

Hi, I also have Hiatus Hernia discovered before pbc was diagnosed no idea what z lines are sorry. I was advised to watch what I ate, to eat small meals frequently, always sit up straight or even stand to eat. Fortunately several years on I have very few problems with it, but have cut out fatty and acidic foods and rarely eat big meals. Good Luck

Here I am wth my hand up again, I was diagnosed with the hiatus hernia also, but that was in the 80's and it has remained a mild hernia.. I have had to give up most food with acid also, and most all fats. Can't eat beef anymore and crave it badly.

Hi, I had a (large) hiatus hernia repair in South Africa in 1989 before I was diagnosed with PBC in 1995 and although the operation was a success I cannot eat large amounts anymore and feel much healthier. I have always been a big eater of meat but have had to cut down and eat smaller portions of everything. Enjoy your food and don't eat when under stress.

i too was diagnosed with mild hiatus hernia years before the pbc. have been taking lanzoprazle since then and have only really had problems recently when i was diagnosed with osteoarthritis and given Naproxen. all the symptoms came back. the doc has up'd the dose of the Lansoprazle and lowered the Naproxen and touch wood that is working at the moment.
