Its autoimmune hepatitis, a few people have this overlapped with PBC.

can can show up as an auto antibody, but most usually it is seen on biopsy.

Mine was suspected as Urso didn't have any effect on my Blood chemistry so they thought something extra was going on... it isn't uncommon to have more than one auto immune condition and I believe the longer you live with an AI condition, the more prone you are to develop others.

My AIH was diagnosed due to high LFT's and presence of SMA antibodies (diagnostic of AIH) in my blood (no mention of AIH in biopsy results).

My PBC was diagnosed due to high LFT's and biopsy results (no AMA antibodies in my blood which is normally diagnostic for PBC 95% of the time).

Hence AIH/PBC overlap syndrome diagnosis and treatment with Urso (PBC) and Azathioprine/steroids (AIH).

I'm just an unusual case I think...... lol.... hope this helps. Take care. x
