I have just taken out insurance for myself and husband (who has PBC) for two weeks to Tenerife for under £90.00 amazing value with Columbus Direct. The lady was so helpful and friendly. I would certainly recommend.

Hi Bink the details are as follows Columbus Direct, based in Croydon in Surrey UK. Just google them and you can either apply on line or over the phone. I personally prefer to organise it over the phone because that way you can emphasise that your PBC must be covered. The only problem you may have is where you state that you are going to the Mayo Clinic I think you MAY find that if you are receiving treatment from them Columbus may decline to cover you. Hope this helps and good luck.

Hi, I have have had Liver Transplant and rediagnosed with PBC, High Blood Pressure, Athritis, miniStroke so partially sighted, and Hernia and I have taken out insurance for £78 for 10 days with Staysure Insurance. Have used them before and they are Brilliant. The Policy had two A4 pages of 'illnesses' that they cover. Very helpful and would reccomend them.

I made an online application and was told my pre existing illnesses were not coverable

ie type 2 diabetes with no complications whatsoever

PBC early stage with now normal liver results, no complications

Would appear they have shifted goalposts significantly
