Only diagagnosed in March and I had my fibroscan yesterday which i was told shows stiffness in the liver. Does anyone know how to interpret this? I have to wait until end of June to see my heptologist again. Still to get an ultrasound. Thanks

Hi,

Sorry but I have only recently heard about the Fibroscan and never actually had one yet so have no idea how to interpret it. Perhaps someone else can shed some light on it.

Fibroscan is a new diagnostic modality to determine the degree of fibrosis in the liver in various settings. The interpretation depends on many other factors and must be done by a specialist. If you need a more precise responce, please write the history and laboratory findings as well as the result of Fibroscan for more discussion.
