Hi Cherry69 sorry to read of your worries for your daughter. Over the years it seems that younger people are being diagnosed with PBC and I have read many posts from young women who hAve young families. Often these ladies talk of fatigue but with good support they go on to lead a happy fulfilled life. The trick does seem to be early diagnosis and treatment. Some Pharmaceutical companies have become interested in PBC and a good deal of research is being done into alternative treatments and hopefully on day a cure.

I hope for your daughter that her blood results are just a blip.

Thank you for your reply and I am keeping my fingers grossed for a blip too

Hi Cherry69, I just wanted to say that I was at the younger end at diagnosis (33), I found out while I was pregnant with my 2nd, I didn’t have pbc when I had my 1st baby when I was 26 so I’ve managed to narrow it down between 26-33 when I first developed it.

Personally I find it difficult to differentiate between tiredness due to having a baby/young child and the fatigue associated with pbc. My 2nd had to be born at 32 weeks due to pbc and he’s got health issues because of his prematurity, it’s not the end of the world though, it is what it is and there’s not an awful lot I can do about it. I won’t be having any more children though that’s for sure but I am more than happy to have 2.

I hope your daughter doesn’t have pbc either, but if she does there’s a lot of support out there, i wonder if they are planning on doing an AMA test on her bloods because of your history? X
