Living with PBC

Hello friends. I have been diagnosed with PBC for 10 years now but have been unable to get better. My hepatologist is making me take Urso and even though my numbers go down, my liver isn't getting better. I have been suffering from a very swollen liver these past days and it wasn't until I saw a homeopathic therapist that I have been doing better. I was told to stay away from fatty foods, red meat, alcohol and salmon if you can believe it. I have been taking Omega 3's, B12, milk thistle and dandelion root tea. My extreme fatigue, abdominal pain, body aches and all seem to have gotten soo much better in just one week. I continue the Urso but hopefully now I can avoid the flares. I'm also going to see if I can reverse some of the liver damage buy doing the Hulda Clark liver cleanse. I will get back to everyone in a month to give you my results.

I'll be looking forward to hearing more good news. My blood work comes back in the normal range but all the test show my liver getting worst as well. I go back to the hepatologist next month and before I see them I'll get another fibroscan and blood work course

I’m so happy you have found the importance of nutrition in this mix. I was already eating well but made some major changes like cutting out gluten after an elimination diet showed a severe reaction to it. I am hopeful that a mix of both approaches is the trick to beating this thing.

Thank you very much for sharing your info.

My blood test result have been fine but recently I had to have an operation and they took photos of my liver (it looks orange and its not smooth at all.)

So I will be grateful if anyone has a good diet or alternative treatment. I take Urso and Letrozole.

I wish you all the best and hope you recover fully soon.

It's not smooth because it seems to be clogged. According to Alternative Medicine, the only way to unclog it is by doing the liver detoxes or liver cleanses. That is supposed to relieve the liver from the stone like formations that are created by all the toxins we accumulate through poor diet and medication. I am learning the benefits of using alternative medicine and diet to bring my liver back to life. Doctors will never recommend these cleanses and a lot of people are very skeptical. But, I have a friend who went into a coma and almost died of cirrhosis. After several of these cleanses and purging hundreds of stones she is 100% healed. All she has are the scars on her liver, the doctors she has gone to still don't believe it was due to the liver cleanses. I am now following that alternative process and hopefully I can say the same thing soon.

Thank you so much for your help, I have started taking milk thistle tablets and avoid alcohol and red meat. (I'm almost vegetarian. ) any advice is wonderful. My doctor also doesn't believe in any of these.

Thanks again, all the best

Thank you for posting this information. I eat nuts quite often and take cod liver oil a few times a week. I was trying to figure out how this would affect my liver with PBC.

Happy Wednesday....I hope you are finding some personal satisfaction in knowing you are about to embark on a healing journey. I have experienced many cleanses over the years. There are many naturopathic doctors out there with different cleanses, but this thread runs true. ALWAYS start with a colon cleanse. You cannot have a successful liver, kidney, gallbladder cleanse with a congested colon. While you are looking at cleanses, you might do some research on Dr. Schulz. He has several different organ cleanses, or you could partake in his Incurable Diseases cleanse. It's a 30 day cleanse that addresses all systems. You will juice, drink his teas, make liver flush drinks, take tinctures, do dry brushing with hot/cold showers, and the big one, the detox bath with body wrap afterwards. It's not for the faint of heart. Whatever you decide, have a strong support group near by and be able to rest during this time. Hulda Clark has a great parasite regime that involves moon cycles. Best of luck to you. Be well

Thank you very much!! As a matter of fact I did read up on that and I will be starting my colon cleanse next week after a minor surgery I'll have for something unrelated to this. To be 30 days on a cleanse is a little hard for me at this time but I'm definitely down for it after I feel better. Thank you so much for the advice I had read on Dr. Schultz and now you've convinced me to buy that cleanse. By the way have you heard of the "coffee enemas"? I'm going to start that one today too anyting to help me heal lol. Keep those suggestions coming, I appreciate you all. Have a wonderful day!
