after just 6 weeks I have had another bout of Cystitis this time the urine test showed high Leukocytes which after I googled it informs me amongst other things it could be linked to Autoimmune problems, anyone else come across this. I know it’s popular subject on here good old Cystitis. Just get good results on one thing then something else comes and bites you on the bum so to speak

I too,. Have had issues with UTI's. This is what works for me: since most of that bad bacteria comes from the colon, every time you use the bathroom use those baby wipes. Take a mild dose of antibiotic after intimacy. Tnis works really well for me and I have not had a UTI in 2 1/2 years.

Thanks for that. Seems that several members suffer frequent attacks which come on without warning I’m still awaiting results from the path lab to get through to my GP. Cranberry juice is recommended as a prevention so will also take this on board. Keep well

How often do you get it? If you don't mind me asking and what vitamins do you take

I take geritol vitamins. It doesn't matter any type vitamin gives me a uti. If i take them daily, i get a uti about 1 wk after taking them. I just recently switch to ever other day. I'm experexperimenting to see if this works. Hope yours gets better, because it sure is miserable.

Hi Biddyb

What a pain! (in the preverbials:-) )

I have not come across your discovery and I hope that you are already having treatment in the meantime .../

There is quite a good article on the NHS website

nhs.uk/conditions/Cystitis/

I have also copied a link from netdoctor which I thought gave a bit more good advice. You may want to take a look and see if anything on there is helpful to you.

netdoctor.co.uk/conditions/...

hope you are soon feeling better

best wishes

Thank you, interesting reading. I have been up to the GP this morning as it has raised its head again, now have protein, blood and leukocyte in sample now on antibiotics AGAIN the pharmacist told me that it's common in ladies especially my age and some patients take low dose antibiotics every day! I'm doing all the rIght things but am scared that there is something more hiding it's ugly head. GP wants me to go back in 2 weeks with another sample to make sure it's gone, which may have been the problem last time as they did t recheck my urine. Keep on keeping on, thank goodness I have a brilliant doctor. Thanks again

You might also think about a course of probiotics if you are not already doing that. So much seems to be associated with good gut health that it may aid improvement.
