ALT, ALP, Gamma GT

Hi everybody!

I was wondering if anybody could help me work out my latest results? My specialist sent me a copy of the letter he sent my GP, but I have no idea what the normal range is to compare them to! (I know they've gone down, but that's all)

My Gamma GT has gone from 106-37, my ALP has gone from 100-91 and my ALT from 272-81.

I have no idea what the average person's levels are to compare them with!

Thank you in advance 😊

Looks good to me, I think different laboratories use different numbering systems so might be difficult to compare. However your numbers have definitely dropped considerably so keep doing what you are doing πŸ˜€πŸ‘

Often the normal range is listed beside the test result and in some cases it is shown in different font if outside the range.

How long have you been on Urso and did you have a fibroscan?

My results since starting Urso in October have improved so much and it is wonderful that the medication works so well. I still have fatigue as a symptom and wish that would improve but mostly I can live a normal life.

Hi ENuk,

I had a Fibroscan just over 19 months ago and then started on the Urso, which my Specialist says I am clearly responding to, which I am very thankful for.

Unfortunately, I also have Fibromyalgia, so I feel pretty rubbish all the time anyway, but at least I can stop worrying so much about my liver now!

Contact the 'PBC Foundation' who host this site on 'Health Unlocked' (see links under 'Pinned Posts' about right on the site). the 'PBC F are wonderful, and their website will give you all the info and back ground on PBC that you could ever wish for. You can also phone or email to talk to their advisors. They work hand-in-hand with the UK's leading PBC Specialists with whom they hold conferences: plus, the Specialists often post talks and info on the 'PBC F' site, and in the magazine 'Bear Facts'.

I only have annual blood tests, as I don't have PBC (yet?) just AMAs; but my tests always show the current levels of GGT, ALP … etc alongside the acceptable range for each of these factors. Maybe ask your GP for a full printout. However, as others have said, it sounds good.
