Gen, I had severe itching also, thought I would go out of my mind. I tried every Western Medicine they had to offer, they didn’t work or side effects were horrific. There are a few things that may help, but of course everyone is different.1) Gold Bond Spray

2) RX Atarax - did a great job but put me in

Zombie state.

3) CBD (SOL-CBD)

4) Sarna cream

5) Saved the best for last, Cannabis works

immediately.

Use CBD before Cannabis, it will deter any euphoric high. I don’t care for the high from Cannabis.

Don’t forget to cool down showers, use clean soap, like Curve’, stay hydrated, eat well, sleep well, exercise.

STAY TRUE

Peace, Graditude, Love and Light

Good morning Jen,

I was think about you and want to let you know that their is a Wellness Counselor in New Jersey by the name of Denise Otten, she is fabulous, I have referred several people to her with good results. I think she would be good for you, you can look her up on the Web and call her. Denise is very knowledgeable, she follows Dr Burt Berkston. I worked with her for a while then decided to travel to New Mexico to be treated by Dr. Burt Burkson, I travel to see Burt few times a year. But, Denise is great plus you would converse over phone at first then turn it into Skyping.

Peace, Love, Graditude and Light

Hi. After being prescribed various antihistamines I have ended up with a cocktail of 2 sachets cholestyramine taken 1 either side of breakfast 300mg Rifampicin twice a day topped off with 25mgs sertraline a day. This gives me some peace although the itch does still break through occasionally.

Hello ButterflyEi

I took the cholestyramine for couple of months and it did nothing so I stopped taking it. I'm somewhat nervous about trying sertraline after reading all the side affects:-/ I was prescribed 50mg to take once at bedtime. I currently take 1500 mg of ursidiol for PBC, 100mg attenolol for high blood pressure, 88mg Synthroid for thyroid and 37mg effexor for menopause so adding another medication that messes with mood makes me worry but then it possibly could help as I'm dealing with alot 9f grieving.

Thank you so much for your reply I really appreciate it!

Be careful with the CBD oil. It causes my immune system to go on overdrive and my numbers spiked. Not a huge fan of prescription medication but rifampin has worked well. I don’t respond very well to coaster b not a huge fan of prescription medication but rifampin has worked well. I don’t respond very well to cholisterimine. Also prescription steroid cream in the lifesaver for me. I hope it gets better. It’s horrible.

Hi danaLL

I totally dislike prescription drugs too.

I wish this itching would go away the yucky tingling inside my body just horrible ☹ What kind of prescription steroid cream are you using if you don't mind me asking. I just purchased a salve cream on Amazon that had good reviews from people with itching and psoriasis. I will post if it works for me. Thank you for taking the time to reply!

Hi My-life were you prescribed it for itching due to PBC? My hepatolist said although it treats depression and anxiety it treats liver patients with severe itching. Can you tell me how long you've taken it and what dosage. I'm desperate if it can stop my itching but worried about side effects and messing with my head lol

Thank you:-)

I perhaps had much less bad itching than you, but E45 Anti-Itch cream worked for me. Available from pharmacies or supermarkets.

I have been fortunate that my itching is mostly located around my ankles and feet and comes and goes. The days that my ankles are driving me crazy, I also have itching in other places but not that bad. What I do that helps, I have an old hairbrush that doesn't have any protective ends on the bristles, I brush my ankles until I feel like I've gotten to the itch and then quickly before it comes back again, I lather on Gold Bond lotion (green bottle that says medicated and extra strength. It has a little menthol in it) Then I try to do an activity that requires attention to distract myself. Most days that works for me. You do have to be careful with the brush on your skin but I have found that I am more likely to break the skin with my hands than with the brush because I can't quite get to the itch with my hands so I scratch harder.

I've tried gold bond spray recommended by someone on the forum here but it doesn't work. I may need to try this one. Thank you!
