Boots travel insurance, going to Canada and needed to cover all. £100 for 3 weeks. Quotes were from £680-£2600 or no cover!! Usually I use flexicover but that doesn't cover all what I have, reasonable.

Thank you for all the replies re travel insurance. I would just like to also ask 'is it better to get insurance separately for husband and wife or jointly'. We both have health issues - mine being PBC and his various issues from the past which are all controlled with medication.

Look at GeoBlue. They offer international travel insurance. If you have current insurance, they will cover pre-existin conditions without question. Both my husband and I have issue and we got it for 2 persons together. Cost was about $60US per week

I got my travel insurance with Boots for a trip to the USA. It was £165 which was £500 cheaper than my next lowest quote. My excess is quite high if I should need treating for anything PBC related but otherwise it is quite low. The Post Office wouldn't insure me at all! Hope this helps. Good luck!

This year I've got an annual joint travel insurance with my husband for Europe (including Spain) with World First for under £300. I have hypertension, under active thyroid, PBC, Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction (SOD) and arthritis, all of which are covered and there is only an additional £75 excess if I have to claim for any of those conditions. I am 65 and my husband 69 - age affects the premium too. I thought it was very reasonable. Boots was the next best for us and I will compare them again next year!
