Hi. I'm just curious to know, are we pbc sufferers supposed to keep warm? To ward off raynauds. My house is so cold and the boiler is 27 years old. Just wondered if I'm always cold am I at risk of getting raynauds,?

I am very new to PBC, so I can't accurately answer your question. But, as a person who is always cold, I suggest snuggling under a heated blanket, like the type that plugs into the wall. In the winter if I'm sitting down, I'll be under one, not just to sleep.

yes your right Iamtheglue, I knitted a patchwork blanket and I keep it by my chair for the evenings but sometimes I wear it around my shoulders if I'm a bit chilly. Nothing more miserable than being cold, find some warm socks and maybe a beany. PBC makes you tired and being cold and tired is just not an option for me. Kandypat

I have some good tips for Raynaud's movement is medicine. I do arm exercises and legs (a bit more tricky to get the blood to toes) but I circle my arms stretching out to the side, this really delays the Raynauds. This is not going to stop cold temperatures, but this does open the capillaries at the shoulder and the blood can stay in the hands longer. My tricky are ais my nose.

There are some fab silver lined cotton gloves for Raynauds as well. Hand warmers are great and any material is best being natural, not manmade.

Keep warm. x

My mum had scleroderma I remember her hands used to be like ice, and her fingers all bent. I just qualified for the warm home discount so can put heating on a bit more now x
