Hi Horsefield2,

be sure to ask your dr about the vitamin D amount.Re constipation-- There are a lot of natural foods-- bran, nuts, whole grains that you can eat for the fiber content, be sure to drink plenty of water as well. There are a lot of fairly 'gentle' laxatives available as well, a pharmacist should be able to advise on that selection while you wait to see dr. I find drinking a sufficient amount of water is key to 'regularity '.

I take laxatives 1/2 times a week but don't do much, never had these problems before my meds, doctor says most people have the other, which I think would be worse, I've started drinking coconut water but I will try just water, thank you x

Hi Horsefield2

I have copied a link from the Thyroid UK page on Health Unlocked as the thread may be of interest to you.

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

I use a spray under the tongue for Vitamin D and do not suffer adverse reaction.

bodykind.com/product/1637-b...

I have taken this statement from NHS Choice

"If you choose to take vitamin D supplements, 10mcg a day will be enough for most people"

but of course you can get Vitamin D from

oily fish – such as salmon, sardines, herring, mackerel and fresh tuna

red meat

liver

egg yolks

fortified foods – such as most fat spreads and some breakfast cereals

this list also taken from NHS choices.

Hope this is of some help to you.

HI there....I had had the same problem when I started on the Urso ... so instead of starting on the full dose I built it up slowly over a couple is months. Started with one in the am and one at night for a week the gradually increased.....after two months I was at my full dose of 3 am and 3 pm. This helped the constipation a lot. I also had a couple of prunes morning and evening just to help things along. It's now no where near as bad as it was good luck.
