Diagnosed in February

Hi. πŸ™‚

After blood work, ultrasound, CAT scan and liver biopsy I found out (at the age of 67) that I have PBC. My primary complaint is feeling tired all of the time. I am taking Urseroil (500 mg twice a day) and go back to the GI guy in August. I am happy knowing there is a community with which to share my concerns. Norma

Hi. I am newly diagnosed too. It's been just a few weeks. I am 62. Apparently I have had the PBC for a while. I am already at the fibrosis stage. I have been on the Ursodial for 2 and 1/2 weeks. I'm due to see the heptoligist June 16. I have a ton of questions for him. Since my liver biopsy the GI suggests I could have an AIH overlap. Hence the trip to the Heptoligist. I feel more than a little nervous about it but happily I do not feel very bad. Just a tingly spot on my back and sometimes a little tired. Just wanted to say hi and best wishes!

Nice to meet you 4pjx. Let's hope the Urso works.

Hi Norma, I was diagnosed in 2012 when I was 66, but it had taken them a couple of years to decide the diagnosis, started 1000 mg of urso straight away. Just to reassure you, I'm fine and feeling healthy, I think if you respond well to the medication you should be fine.

Good luck Jenny

That's great Jenny! I hope I can say the same soon. I feel that there is a dark cloud hanging above me. Are you tired?

I do get tired Norma, but I am 71 now and have a really busy life, so to be expected really I suppose. The only small problem I tend to have is really dry eyes, but I have drops and gel for that, I also have osteo penia caused by the pbc, so have to take calcium tablets. It's a lot to take in at first, but I hope you get your head around it soon and the black cloud your under lifts for you.

Take care Jenny

How long have you been taking the URSO? I know it took a few months for my body to adjust and feel better I still have that darn pain in the liver area everyday but it's not as bad as before I started the URSO .

Hang in there it takes a while for your body to adjust to the URSO and everyone is different .....

Hi DOra. πŸ™‚

Thanks for the welcome. I also have COPD (smoked too darn long but quit 12 years ago). So now I have two initial diseases. Lucky me. ☹️
