So lonely,so I'll, but nearly there.

As a follow up from my last rant, thanks to everyone for the help, I may have a diagnosis. Consultant suspects autoimmune Chronic pancreatitis. I see him this Thursday. This is a difficult disease to diagnose, hence why it was missed at Xmas when I was in hospital and has taken so long to diagnose now. Lying in bed for the last 10 weeks with the pain increasing, horrendous nausea and now vomiting has given me time read many medical journals etc. What I have learnt that we all must be demanding of care from the medical profession, they must listen to us, and to any crazy idea we may have. We live in our bodies and we know them better than anyone. No one fits into a box neatly for any illness, we are all different so our illness are different in symptoms etc. I'm so tired and angered at hearing, oh I don't deal with that area, I know best, mm pardon what did you say... in truth no one cares or understands how life is with long term disease that will never get better and may lead to others. This is my body and I will look after it as best I can, but I will demand the help and support of the medical world. With love to all, Lisa xx

Amen! We are, and have to be, our own best advocate. Good for you for continuing to look for answers to what was causing you to feel badly. I'm a firm believer that knowledge is power. If you can identify the problem it's half the battle. I hope your new diagnosis will lead to a treatment that will offer you some relief!

Lisacj, I'm so sorry you are so miserable. You may need to see a good Naturopath Doctor. Ask around who is known to be a good one in your area. Medical doctors can only help so much with auto immune disease. They aren't trained nor do they understand auto immune disease. They prescribe the meds that cover over the underlying problem. I have chosen to do both conventional medicine at the same time I've started seeing a good Naturopath Doctor. A Naturopath treats the root cause, not just the symptoms. Do a thorough search for a good one. Ask around. Like doctors, there are good and not so good ones. A draw back though, at least here in my area is, they don't accept insurance. Still, getting better is key. Maybe they will work something out with you. Getting help is essential. Keeping you in my prayers.

Hi Lisa. Sorry to hear how poorly you have been for such a long time. You are right about your body and yes it is maddening when Dr's won't listen to you. Here's hoping with a diagnosis you will then be able to get the right treatment for you. I am hoping the LDN may be of help to me and am keen to try it to find out.

Hoping things improve for you soon.
