Many of us on this forum live with continual stress (I know I certainly do) and I'm considering auditing this free online course offered by edx.org. I recently took a MOOC (Massive Online Open Course) pertaining to Library Advocacy which is my current field of work, and the course was free, self paced, included discussion groups for sharing ideas and offerered a lot of great best practices and tools.
Anyway, the goal for this course is to give you permission to take care of yourself and empower you to be a resilient person. A resilient person is someone who:
* purposely strives to be as mentally and psychically healthy as possible,
* possesses the confidence to effectively cope with and manage stressful situations,
* is compassionate towards self and others,
* demonstrates grit or perseverance even in the face of adversity, and
* focuses on the positive and fulfilling aspects of life.
I'm thinking about taking it --- not that I have a lot of time on my hands -- I don't with business travel and speaking engagements, work, children and life in general, but any tools to help me maintain a positive outlook while living with PBC and all the accompanying ailments, may be worthwhile.
