Is anyyone using this app aware that each individual G.p csn set what csn be seen by a patient.?As I had tk change surgery as mine closed this seems to be the case.

After two hand written letters .

Three in person visits .

Photo ID

Two forms filled out and signed.

Two phone calls;

I revieved s letter from an admin at mh surgery.

States.

Repeat prescription not automatically transferred!!

I. E my B12.

Sorted by an appointment with a pharmacist .

That's new and seems a waste of time. Why not leave it on ??

Review at some point with Gp??

Over 5000 with new surgeries.

What I've not managed is bring able yo vied letters

Consults

Nurses comments.

Is this generally seen by those using the app?

I think I may request all of my medical notes when I find out how .

I know many errors that ard probably stiLL on there.

Some blatant like s DNA for something never booked .

Also someone else's questionnaire answers

I want my B12 'story ' from 2018 to be correct .

How can I quote from letters I've seen on there before if I now can't access them.?

The last being a neurologist last year thd last practice senior partner contacted fof advice on my ongoing 2 weekly b12 prescription.

This was 'approved ' ? Must have that in file

I screen shot some stuff ( well done for me on request ) not all though.

Like to be ready for thd inevitable 'next round ' as new surgery .

Interested in what sort of access others have??

Like many I always ask for any test results and am given by receptionist, no issues. Some years ago whilst bringing a case against my local Trust my solicitor requested all medical notes/history. No trouble as its everyone's legal right. If I wanted copies I would go straight to this extreme. Bit extreme/expensive but I'm sure a solicitor might consider just writting 1 formal request for your notes.

I have access to my online portal through my GP, to book appointments, order repeat px and I can also see my test results or emails between my GP and endo.I was also invited to register with PKB ( patients know best ) through NHS, you fill in all your own info, but also any hospital appointments etc come through PKB, you can register for it yourself on the NHS app, it may be something you would benefit from if not already registered?

Wil continue to try and reinstate access I had before on the NHS app.

It appears the surgery can choose to block what they like.

Hope I'm wrong .

Will get what do have printed off in order to see if I need more if another block on b12 on the horizon.

Can't see what she's written.

That nurse simply said to me

You can't be injecting at home.

What colour needle do you use .

Simply not done

I said to read my notes .

Have been for over 2 years.

Better be 4mins next time.

Hence the need to see more of my notes to see what im dealing with.

Hi Nackapan, when you get asked by a consultant if you want copies of their letter say yes and I always take a paper photocopy ( just in case) and you could scan it and store on computer. That way you’re not reliant on just your GP records for things like that. I have a paper copy of the bit in my GP notes where it states I have PA and injections are for life. Hard isn’t it

Yes I have been copied into neurologists letters .However the last one was an email sent by the senior gp partner asking for advice.

As having s 2 weekly b12 prescription.

I didnt see the neurologist!

A different one.

The neurologist condoned my regime reply was seen in the app .

Covering the gps back i think.

I had to point it out to several nurses to get my b12 injection.

Will have to get 'my file ' in order .

Some things were retrieved onto paper .

My bloods j got printed off at the surgery .

All so annoying and inconsistent

ahh yes really difficult that one . Copied in letters no probs . I can’t access replies/ emails that are advice from consultants to the GP about me at all . So I’m in the same boat there if not worse as I never get to see them in the first place

I have a friend who works for, what was, NHS Digital they told me in February that what you can see depends on what your surgery have switched on in terms of access to your records. There is a plan to open the access to records, but some surgeries opted out of sharing the records. Also what you can see from other people that access your record (ie who are not your GP surgery team) is also dependent on the care settings sharing back into your GP record. So this is why it varies from practice to practice.

It maybe that it will also take a little time when you have moved surgeries to see what you are able to see too eg when I registered it took a while for me to see all the things I had access to and came through in dribs and drabs

Yes thst makes sense .It's systmone the surgery use . I actually used to work on it!

Had to get permission from the patient to share with othef NHS bodies .

Ive signed so many firms St my old surgery .

Photo ID at ti's new one and now 3 letters sent.

I hope it does start adding more .

I used to be able to read letters

Consults ect.

Some wax 'withheld ' and codes used instead.

The inconsistency is awful.

Gp surgeries 'opting out' causing mayhem.

I.T in the NHS needs to be consolidated and all on the sane system so say A and E do have access!

The letter from the surgery replying to my request clearly arnt well informed .

Stating to contact the app helpdesk .

They said have to request from the surgery !!

I'm going to see yet mother nurse for IM b12 injection soon .

Will enquire again .

I just want to be ready for when my b12 regime is challenged again.

Hi Nackapan, I recently submitted a Right of Access request for all my medical records to my local surgery. I didn’t need a solicitor to do it. You have a legal right under GDPR to ask the NHS what they hold about you. You need to give ID to prove who you are. Then request the info that you need. There is more info on the NHS digital site. Just Google Subject Access Request and NHS and it should come up for you. The info should be provided to you within one calendar month. Good luck.

My notes are total garbage. Important stuff missing, dates years out. One particular entry dangerous and ridiculous - like a man being prescribed Loestrin, a female hormonal contraceptive.

I haven't fared any better with hospitals. I requested my hospital records nearly two months ago. Despite the rules (law?) saying they should be delivered within one calendar month I'm still waiting after nearly two. They get really annoyed each time I enquire.

All I'm trying to do is prove my PA diagnosis nearly forty years ago.
