I have deficiency of vitamin b12.I have taken 5 injections total but found no relief.I have tremors due to which I am not able to concentrate on anything.I have head tremors also
Is oral sublingual b12 is equally ef... - Pernicious Anaemi...
Is oral sublingual b12 is equally effective as taking as intramuscular injection
Recovering from B12 deficiency is unlikely to happen overnight - if there has been damage as a result of the deficiency - eg to nerves - this can take months to repair - even longer.
The injections will have raised your blood B12 levels. It is possible that high dose oral may help you to maintain them now - but unfortunately this doesn't work for everyone and at present there is no way of knowing why this is and which people won't find high dose oral is effective.at maintaining B12 levels.
Injection is the most efficacious method of administering vitamin B12 . Have an injection every other day until your symptoms do not continue to improve . That is the guidance given when treating neurological symptoms . B12 cannot be overdosed , so theres no reason to be worried. If you have been deficient for a long time , recovery will not be swift . Please be patient . Best wishes
I noticed improvement but can not say complete improvement but my tremors is reduced somewhat and got light before it was so intense now it occurs very light since the last injection which I was taken 2 days ago.Can I start supplement now I have both spray and tablets but I scared to take them
It cant be equally effective. It can be of usr to some.
At your stage of treatment I think injections is the way and review and try sub lingual as well.
I did this to try and have fewer injections .
For me it didnt work.
For some it can .
If dietary the causes then people do well on oral b12 to maintain levels.
Theres one person to my knowledge on here that managed to change from injections to tablets.
If I remember rightly they were on 3 monthly b12 injections .
In my opinion everyone over 50 would benefit from an oral supplement as absorbtion decreases with the menopause and age. .
Depending on the cause of your deficiency, oral B12 may be as good as injections. It can never be better than injections.
Thanks,I have taken 5 injections total and now thinking to start supplement as relying solely on one thing is not going to be effective.I have remain deficient for 2 yrs but symptoms were not clear and also here doctor don't suggest this test I got symptoms in December my body nerves starts shaking suddenly from nowhere and also head nerves because of that I am unable to do anything.I have checked my magnesium, calcium, vitamin d3 and b12.All are normal except b12.My b12 level is 94.I started injections.Doctors don't give more injections. Also some suggest weekly some daily they actually don't know about all this which I read. I started alternate days so that I don't burden myself. Now shaking is reduced somewhat can I start taking supplements.
Hi ,have you had your thyroid checked? I have hypothyroidism and take thyroxine, I also have leukemia cml and take imatinib and a b12 deficiency for which I get injections every 3 months.
I developed a tremor last summer and thought I was having panic attacks, however it turned out I was replacing to my thyroid with to much thyroxine once I cut this medication down my tremor decreased rapidly.
Maybe you have developed an over active thyroid it's worth an investigation to help with the tremor? Because B12 tablets does nothing for me compared with the injection.
Please take care stay safe wishing you luck.

I am 7 months into treatment and have internal tremors daily. They started in my head. My brains felt like it was shaking. That went away quickly but several months later I got them in my body. It does feel sorta like a panic attack but now I know what it is. I used to get them year ago when under a lot of stress but never thought about it really. Now o know it was the slow decline of my body. I get 2 injections per month as of right now but tremors aren’t going away. Best of luck to you!
Worst case scenario, the tablets won’t work. I went off injections and took high doses of sublingual b12 daily and became even sicker than I was at diagnosis. Your levels will fall fast after stopping injections if you’re unable to absorb b12 orally. Injections work, sublingual may or may not. If you notice symptoms, don’t wait to get back on injections. I learned that the hard way! Good luck in your recovery. As others have stated, it will take some time to recover and you will feel worse before you feel better.
