B12/PA test results, input please

I'm a 61 year old male who has had symptoms consistent with PA most of my life. Although I feel like crap most of the time, I have managed to keep fit/exercise frequently and eat a "whole foods" (lower case!) diet. BMI is about 22. I've been investigating PA as a source of my issues since 4/2019, when I began taking 2000 mcg Cyanocobalamin orally daily until 6/2019, when I began Cyanocobalamin injections, 1000 mcg 3 x week. I have noted some improvements, though they haven't been massive. Here are my pertinent test results, any insights are greatly appreciated!

Note that I'm not sure if the 1st 2 tests were ELISA.

Looks like you tested positive on this one. Have you spoken with a medical professional about this result? If this is truly positive for intrinsic factor antibodies, then you have PA.

Low D levels. I am not medically trained but if it were me, I'd be taking a good D3/MK7 supplement to bring the D3 levels within range.

Even though your B12 numbers are within range, that doesn't mean very much. Mine were right in the middle of "normal" but I tested high on MMA and Hcy as well as positive for Parietal Cell Antibodies so I am positive for PA and require B12 injections for life (have numerous neurological symptoms which prompted testing).

Hope you find what works best for you.

Ellie - Thanks for the reply, the Mayo clinic link is especially great, hadn't seen that page before. If anyone else has any thoughts, please pass them on!

Hi, I just wanted to say that you need to get the Vit D up. A good dose of 50,000 units looks like it would help. Vit D and B 12 work together its important to have all systems in sync with each other, stop folate for a while and see if things get better. BMI of 22 impressive! Good luck hope things get better.

Thanks for the reply. I'm currently taking 11,000 units of D3 a day, increased after the low tests, I should get that checked again. Thanks on the BMI, I mentioned that in case there may be some difference in PA with people who are fairly fit. My symptoms, unpleasant as they are, seem not nearly as awful as some others have to deal with, I was wondering if maybe not being overweight etc. might moderate PA a little. The folate figure's odd; only supplement I take with that in it is a daily multivitamin. Also on the D3 (and diet), I eat a lot of Greek yogurt I make myself out of whole milk fortified with vitamin D.

that's great that many units are really high you need to balance that out, too much of anything will cause an unbalance in your system being fit also helps in any situation in the body Yes please get rechecked
