Low B12

Hi everyone,

I have had my B12 retested and my level is 137 - (150 - 900 range) Tested negative for instrinsic factor.

Doctor has suggested that I start taking cyanocobalamin but it is £17 from my local chemist which I think is quite expensive considering I have to take them for the next 6 months until my re-test. Does anyone know where I can purchase them cheaper or is there an alternative to this particular brand? Any help or advise would be very much appreciated.

Why has the doc suggested tablets? Unless you’re a vegetarian they’re unlikely to do anything.

If you are vegetarian then I would suggest these tablets amazon.co.uk/Health4All-Vit...

If you’re not vegetarian then I would be going back to the doctor asking for injections. Here is an NHS document describing a sensible course of action...

My Doctor said as I was only slightly low she would recommend tablets. No I am not a vegetarian.

Thank you for the document I will have a read through.
