Hydroxocobalamin and Ocular Migraine

Has anyone who's injecting Hydroxocobalamin ever experienced Ocular Migraine... I've never had anything like this before... I had my first one about 5 weeks ago.. And have had another 4 since.. I started si every other day 3 months ago.. Any advice would be much appreciated ☺....

I use cyano-b12 (0.5 ml Monday and Thursday) and can get a headache on the day of the injection. I feel like the severity is dependent on how stressed or run down I was before the injection.

I also get a symptom of aggression and anger on that day.

The headache is right behind the eyes. Most often only on one side.

Thanks for your kind reply ☺... This Migraine is not so much painful.. It's shimmering lines in one eye wither my eyes are open or shut.. Quite disconcerting.. Going to the opticians in a hour to rule out any eye problems 😔... But from what I've read about the symptoms is they can occur due to changes in the brain activity, nerve and blood flow.. So was wondering if it had anything to do with the hydroxocobalamin... ☺..

I'm in my fifties and a few years ago the vitreous fluid in both eyes came away from the retina. Lots of sparks flying (it looked like) when I looked side to side. The right eye was worse than the left.

Detached retina was a possibility but turned out not to be the case for me.

I've still got floaters and black spots in the one eye. It happens to be the one that gets tired first, is sore first and goes out of focus first. The headache is also on this side.

I think there is a connection to low B12 and the issues. When i get my injections, the eye issues clear up as well. The retina is a mass of nerves so to me that connection makes sense.

The only known issue with optic nerve and B12 is leber's disease. That connection is to cyano and not hydroxo.

Sounds like a migraine aura, I also get this (but long before I started injections). I get it without headache but apparently most people get the aura just before a headache. It's sometimes called Silent Migraine and you can get other symptoms too (vertigo, confusion even temporary paralysis). I would Google it as there's lots of information online, but also get the GP to check you over too if it's a new thing.

Thanks for your kind reply ☺.... Just been to the opticians and she also said it sounds like Migraine aura... I get a light headache afterwards and nothing else... So hopefully it'll calm down soon... Only had 4 in 5 weeks... I think it's stress related.... ☺ thanks again ☺

No problem, and I hope the migraines calm down.

I have read that migraine may be linked to B12 deficiency. I started getting them 3 years ago and since then I haven't felt "right". I had very intense and scary auras with vertigo, tingling in my limbs, confusion, brain fog, anxiety and memory problems. It took weeks to recover from each attack. I was eventually put on Pregabalin for the anxiety (also a drug used for epilepsy) and the migraines stopped completely. There was obviously something neurological going on, but I'm just glad to be rid of them.

Yeah I think mine might be due to the fact my B12 is doing its job... ☺... Just have to wait and see... All the best for the future ☺

I've been suffering with migraine aura for about 35 years. I get an attack two or three times a year. Nothing obvious triggers them and the frequency hasn't changed since I've started injecting.

Thanks for your reply ☺... I'm hoping it'll all calm down soon.. I've got a sinus infection also.. Don't know if that might contribute.... All the best ☺
