Wrote to my Neurologist to ask for help with my GP. He wrote back saying to get my B12 checked again. So just got results and "No Action Required". Told to skeddadle.
B12 is 217.4
Folate 5.87.
This is despite taking daily B12 and folic acid from the pharmacist for a month prior to test as my GP refuses to give me anything as all my B12 are normal.
So I guess I'll just have to sit here with my unsteadiness and complete brain fog.

Wait, so it's been nearly a year since your prior test that showed 195.9 and, even after taking supplements, it has only increased to 217.4 (a difference of 21.5)? That seems like evidence that supplements are not working (unless you're taking a very low dose supplement). Perhaps you should write to your GP with the observation that your levels have not risen in accordance with the level of the supplement you've been taking. Refer him/her to the lab tests that have been run for verification. Point out that the test results indicate that oral supplements are not adequate treatment for you and request to be given a trial course of injections to see if they will work better.
Tried all of above and tried to rope the neuro in on it. But I'm told everything is "normal". No action required. Won't entertain injections as they're not required with my normal results. Dose I'm taking is one10ug daily of B12 and one 400ug of folic acid. That's all the chemist could advise.
The dose your chemist advised is the typical daily requirement. It is not the level recommended for correcting a deficiency. You would need to take a higher dose to help correct the deficiency. That explains why your level hasn't really improved though.
B12 is a water soluble vitamin, so you cannot overdose on it (unless you have existing problems with kidney disease). You should be able to find supplements at a much higher level if you look. Look for one that is 1000mcg to take daily.
UNLESS you do want to continue to plug away at getting an official diagnosis. If you plan to keep trying to get your GP to listen to you, you would have to not take any B12 supplements and let your level fall far enough that your GP would finally treat it. It can be really hard to follow this path though, because your symptoms will likely get worse before they are finally recognized and treated.
