Pleased to report a new source of B12 in all its forms---Cyno, Hydroxo and Methylcobalamin , for injecting, sub-lingual and nasal spray. Comes in dried form with saline. in different dosages. I received my order very quickly. Google" B-amazing.net" and have a look. Always good to have a back-up anyhow.

Re IM injections; does the powder break down well? How does the price compare to other places?

Thanks.

Can you please tell me the difference between methyl, hydroxo and cyano? I believe the cyano has cyanide in it, so I am not sure I would want to take that. But not sure which to take of the other two. I have pernicious anaemia and have an injection every 12 weeks, but I would like to boost it and thinking of the nasal spray.

Cyanocobalamin is the form of B12 where the cobalamin is bound to a cyanide molecule. It keeps the cobalamin stable. In fact it is the most shelf-stable form of cobalamin and is the form most often used in over the counter supplements.

Interestingly, cobalamin inactivates cyanide. The cure for cyanide poisoning is a large dose of hydroxocobalamin. Hydroxocobalamin doesn't contain a cyanide molecule, so the cobalamin latches onto the cyanide and actually creates cyanocobalamin which the body can easily flush out.

I found this page which gives a description of the three types:

Thank you Galixie. What would you suggest it is best to buy say for the nasal spray? Yes I am wary of the remarks below about this site.

Everyone is so individual with what works for them that it's really a matter of trial and error to find what will work best for you.

For example, I tried methylcobalamin sublingual tablets and they did nothing for me while cyanocobalamin sublingual liquid helped a little. I used to take cyanocobalamin injections but recently switched to methylcobalamin injections and those have been lasting longer for me than the cyano ones did. You'd think that, since the methyl injections last longer in my system, I would have experienced a benefit from the methyl sublinguals, but I didn't. Go figure.

I've never tried one of the nasal sprays so I really don't have a recommendation on those.

Thanks again Galixie. I will try the cheapest first ;)

Just as a footnote - there is some concern about the interaction between cyanocobalamin and the small amount of cyanide found in cigarettes but I don't think there is anything conclusive - and some smokers find that they respond better to cyano than hydroxo - presumably because some of the hydroxo gets used up removing the cyanide from their system.

Interesting. Fortunately I am not a smoker.

In which case cyanocobalamin wouldn't be a problem for you

Cyno is furthest from being absorbed, Hydroxo (Which NHS uses) is one step closer, and Methyl is closest to being absorbed. Some people say that Methyl is best for neurological problems. Only injections work for me. I have tried nasal spray and sub-lingual-to no avail. You just have to experiment to find the best for yourself.

Thanks Wedgewood. That answers my question completely.

I've been on Cytamen 1000mcg (cyanocobamalin) every four weekis for over 40 years and I'm still, at the age of 74, "clivealive".

I "suffered" some bad side effects with the hydroxo when it was tried to put me on to it when it first came out as Neo-cytamen many years ago and I also found difficulty coping with the three monthly gap between injections so was put back onto the original regime.

We are all different and it is not a case of "one size fits all".

I wish you well Lilian15 and hope you get the treatment you need soon.

I thought I could detect a fish-like odour. As well as a distinct sell of shullbit.

Hi, I've been using these guys for ages and was recommending them when everyone was still going to Goldpharms. Before Goldpharma has international money laundering issues (why else would a German pharmacy trade through a Seychelles website and off shore books?)

This firm have always been great for me and people I have recommended them to. Don't take my word for it, check out their eBay feedback. You don't get that level of feedback in such a short space of time without offering a great service and product.

That's my two-penneth.

Hope you all have a great bank holiday weekend :-)

What evidence do you have that Goldpharma has money laundering issues?

Gambit62 profile image
Gambit62Administrator in reply to engels

Not money laundering issues but issues with US regulations around money laundering which have meant they have had to change some of their procedures making it very difficult for US customers to use them, if I've followed the threads correctly.
