Storing B12

Hey all, I was just wondering where you store vials/ampoules of B12? I ordered both methyl and hydroxy, gonna try self injecting both. But where do I put all the vials? In the fridge? How long do they last? Thanks in advance :)

Hi

I just have hydroxocobalamin and it has an expiry date on it. I keep it in the box (away from light as it breaks B12 down) and in fridge- needs to be kept below 23C I think but I started it last summer when it was warm so got into habit of fridge.

i might keep in the fridge then to be safe. nothing bad happens if it gets too cold?

Don't think so- obviously not to be frozen though. People say if too cold it stings more so keep it in my hand to warm a bit before injecting

I have a vial of methylcobalamin which is dark brown glass to protect it from light. As an extra measure I keep it wrapped up to the seal with foil and store it in the bedroom in a large first aid box, which also contains my syringes, wipes etc. I don't refrigerate it, but I live in up in the Frozen North, so no need. :)

ok so it needs to be kept away from light. thanks

I've always kept mine in a drawer in a cupboard, told not to keep in fridge - as stings more when injecting. I'm in UK, so doesn't often go over 23 in a drawer!

Just checked on web - says keep in a cool dry place.

Hi KiPeRi75

Looking through this site in desperation. I noticed you are in UK and are using self injections. I have been taking sublingual MC for 6 months and many of my symptoms have improved, tiredness, brain fog, palpitations, headaches and tremors BUT the numbness of hands, now arms and feet have got worse. Doctor does not accept B12 def. as reading was 470, before I started sub-lingual. I am considering self administering injections or trying to find a knowledgeable specialist. How did you go on with your specialist visit and how do you obtain genuine supplies of MC injections without prescription?

Thanks in advance for taking time to reply.

I get methylcobalamin 5mg/ml from Manufaktur@arnika-apo.de

If you email them at above email its aprox 40 euros for 10 ampules ( 1box )

No prescription needed .they are German and are off high quality and good

Re b12

I am a disciple of Dr Riar and take it 2x per day

Methyl that is

I have a b 12 issue but my main "other" reason is nerve regeneration caused by a tumour .

I take also 1 ml of a 25 mg /ml per day . At one stage by iV I was doing 10 times that 4 times per week so its Definatly not toxic !

I saw under Dr Riar 's care that the more damage done to a person before treatment the greater the need for frequent injections .i am being very very brief here but a full explanation would run into pages !

Wow that's a lot and it has helped with the tumour as well?

jaybo in reply to jaybo

I take many other things as well in ultra high doses but my tumour not really grown in six years .it was quality of life that was and is key for me not length and on that point Methylcobalamin has been a major success for me .this does NOT mean it's the same for other people

That's amazing- well done and I hope your quality of life continues to be good and the tumour stays stable.

I had a great teacher in Dr Riar

So you take 10mg per day? That's expensive! How has it helped you though most importantly?

I use hydroxy from amazon.de. No Dr's would agree that I needed more b12, (was on 8 wkly) so I decided to SI. I do IM into thigh. I get needles & syringes from amazon.uk. I was shown how to inject by a nurse friend.

Many Thanks KiPeRi75. I could not see the reply initially but went to your profile to find it. Thanks so much. I am scared that I would be relying on injections from an unknown source. It is so unfair that they will not give you something you need that cannot harm you, just to see if it works. Approached my doctor again the other day, but it is not looking promising. So many say that sublingual does work if taken in large enough doses and with co-factors. Perhaps I have not been taking enough. I have been taking 5000mcg per day. Thanks again for your reply.

I guess you could always take the vial you are going to use tomorrow out of the refrigerator now? Plenty of time to warm up but would probably have insignificant effect on the B12 itself.

cool thank you

I believe methyl needs to be kept cold, but do not use it. I have hydroxo and cyano cobalamin, keep it in a drawer, and move it to the fridge if we get a heat wave in UK, not often..Marre.
