This made me laugh out loud!

An old woman was asked, "At your ripe age, what would you prefer to get - Parkinson's or Alzheimer's?"

The wise one answered, "Definitely Parkinson's - Better to spill half my wine than to forget where I keep the bottle..!" :-) :-) :-)

Jill and ShaSha hope you get a good laugh too!

Doctors claim to have found a cure for the common cold. They inject you with Parkinson's, then you should be able to shake it off in a week.

HA HA AL

Whenever I try to squeeze into a tight gap left between two parked cars, I start to shake uncontrollably.

I think I suffer from parking zones disease.

I guess you can still laugh when you have PD.

You know what they say "laughter is the best medicine" though there are some days with PD when all you can do is cry.

Difference between dementia and Alzheimer's : dementia you can't remember where you put your keys. Alzheimer's: you don't remember what your keys are used for!!

Alzheimers is one form of the more general term, dementia. Dementia with Lewy Bodies is a type sometimes associated with PD.

With memory retrieval problems, you eventually remember, perhaps through a cue or after you find the keys.

With Alzheimers you never remember anything as if it never happened.

This distinction is the main factor that determined that I do not have Alzheimers and resulted in dx of executive functioning cognitive disorder.

Boy, I sure am serious today. Sorry, Pat.

Two nuns were walking down the street when a man approached them, opened his coat and exposed himself.....one of the nuns had a stroke.....the other one couldn't reach!!

Three nuns were in a horrible car accident in Sheffield killing them all. They were greeted by St Peter upon arriving in heaven. St Peter noted that they lived exemplary lives and heaven for them would be any privilege or pleasure they wanted.

The first nun, Sr Barthomelew, approached St Peter and said that she never had a man and would like to experience that. St Peter agreed and asked who she would like. She replied John Wayne. St Peter approved.

Next was Sr Ismerelda. She too stated that she would like to experience a man. St Peter agreed and asked who she would like. Her response was Tom Cruise.

Finally it was Sr Mary Pat's turn. She stated that she too would like the same. When St Peter asked who she wanted her response was AndyC. St Peter said AndyC, who's AndyC? I've never heard of AndyC

Sr Mary Pat responded. "I have lived in the Sheffield area for many years. Everywhere I went I kept hearing... F*#^ that AndyC!"

Funny. But sad as well to me- for 2 very different reasons. Coincidentally, I got asked to eat in the casual dining area rather than the formal dining room during a cruise for spilling wine repeatedly ( and dropping silverware). I understood & did so. Although I knew I'd prevail if I protested, I was uncomfortable, knowing I would continue spilling & dropping; so I missed out socially.

The 2nd reason: Unfortunately, choosing PD rather than Alzheimers could backfire, since those with PD face the possibility of developing cognitive deficiencies, sometimes progressing into dementia. Choosing PD is a gamble that you won't develop dementia as well. Sorry to bring reality into a joke. I really do appreciate the joke but am compelled to express my thoughts when pondering a serious answer to the question.

Honestly I'm not clear on how I'd respond if I actually had that choice even though I already have serious cognitive deficits in the area of executive functioning (organizing, planning, concentration, memory, speed of thought, spatial perception, ....). Still not certain it will develop into dementia. For me, the scariest most challenging part & biggest concern of PD is my cognitive problems.

Sure have complicated and put a damper on a good joke. Just sent me off on a serious tangent........

I'd complain and get my money back There must be some equivalent of the ADA.

I understand completely, no need to apologize. So sorry for the way you were treated on your cruise as well. In reality, I would choose neither but then none of us had that choice.
