Zoloft or Azilect?

I started going through menopause and began all the crazy symptoms that go along with it. SO the decision had to be made, Azilect or depression meds. I chose the Zoloft. Do you think I made the right decision?

I'm on Azliect, Carbo-Levodopa and Paxil with Neuros approval. I was already on Paxil when she prescribed Azliect and we just watched for any adverse reactions--I had none.

You sound like me! These are 3 different things. Estrogen baby estrogen.....talk to your gynecologist about that one. Some risks but some health benefits and not being a crazy old lady with chin hair made me appreciate estrogen.

I have been on azilect and Zoloft for over a year. Azilect warnings say it is not safe with Zoloft, but they are being super over cautious. Get a doc who will prescribe both, it will be ok. I will tell you that azilect potentiates the Zoloft, meaning you will need lower dose of the zoloft to fel better. i really experienced a remarkable improvement after several months on these. So far I have not neded sinemet. It is always a good idea to start one med at a time to check for side effects and tolerance. Can I suggest azilect o.5 mg then taper up to 1 mg daily. If you tolerate that, which you probably will based on most people's experience, the add in the Zoloft slowly tapering up as needed. Give your body a few months to adjust before you despair. It takes awhile. Endure the depression knowing relief will eventually come.

The reason I suggest start with the azilect ( if you can afford it) is that the theory is that it is neuro protective and could maybe ( maybe) slow the progression. It feels very gentle to me, and after a few months I noticed some improvement in pd symptoms.
