Misplaced L-dopa/C-dopa pills...

Twas the day before Christmas

and I'm far away,

From where my neurologist

and family doctor stay.

I refilled my pills,

a three-month supply.

But now I can't find them,

I think I might cry.

Tried calling my neuro,

but his clinic is closed

until day after tomorrow,

I heard as I froze.

A few days of shaking

I guess I have in store,

I hope that by Wednesday

I might get some more.

I have never gone more than a day or so without L-dopa/C-dopa in the past 15 years. Does anyone have any suggestions? Do you think my Comtan and Azilect will keep me on a fairly even keel? Should I increase my doses of Comtan and Azilect?

Merry Christmas all.

Get yourself to the closest pharmacy PRONTO . Tell the your situation the will give you enough till you get home and find your Rx. The generic for sinamet is dirt cheap. If you have insurance they will front you a month Rx for it or ask about a free clinic for meds. Good luck.

Agree, have had to do this myself but for a different medication. Good luck.

Such a great sense of humor, loved the poem, but honey there has to be an on call md at at least your PCP office. Don't stop cold turkey, this is a true emergency. Like emergency room emergency. No don't change the other doses! I am worried for you! Are you in colorado? I'll bring you some!

Yes take this seriously. Cold turkey with some PD drugs is very dangerous. Look up NMS (neurological Malignant Syndrome). Take action now rather than later - please.

If you look far and wide you might find someone there

Who knows how you're feeling and might really care.

The pain that you're having, nobody should bear.

If you live close to me, I surely would share!

Where are you located? You might possibly find somebody close enough to help you out. I just returned from Christmas dinner and with all the hassle I forgot to take meds with me. FORTUNATELY I have been through this before and left some at my mom's. I know they always say not to share meds, but if you have a scrip and an urgent need it seems ridiculous. I have sinemet 50/200 and 25/100 -- not "street drugs" by any stretch!

Agree, get to a pharmacy or an emergency room. They will give you what you need to get by.

Thanks for the replies and advice. I am going to see a doctor on Thursday that my wife has an appointment with. I have not had my L-dopa/C-dopa in about 36 hours though and have not noticed any adverse effects. My tremors are not worse. I think what I notice the most is some slowing in ambulation.I have been on L-dopa/C-dopa more than 15 years and in that time have never gone without it more than 24 hours.
