I am a speech pathologist who is certified to provide LSVT therapy. Just wondering what the interest is in eLOUD online therapy. I am evaluating my first eLOUD patient tomorrow and am very excited about this. What a great way to provide services to people who might not be able to receive therapy otherwise.

I received LSVT BIG Therapy in the last couple of months of 2010. It was terrific. I still do the exercises a few times a week and my balance continues to be good. From what I know about LOUD Therapy, which admittedly is little, I have to wonder if receiving the therapy on line is as efficacious as receiving it in person.

Please tell me more. I have not lost my voice but people can't understand me when I talk with them and often I am asked to repeat myself. Also I am a pastor of a church and this

problem with my speech volumn is in part causing me to retire much earlier than I had

planned. I look forward to hearing from you. ~~~Dennis

The research on telehealth therapy has been surprisingly promising. I would like to refer you both to the LSVT global website at lsvtglobal.com. There is a wealth of information as well as current research on both LSVT and LSVT provided through eLOUD. Dennis, LSVT therapy is designed to improve vocal loudness and intonation. It has also been found to be effective for articulation and swallowing as well. It is a program that has been very effective for treating Parkinson's patients (as well as a multitude of other diagnoses). Results typically last for up to 2 years. I have treated patients in the clinic but this is the first time I am venturing out to provide therapy online. I am passionate about treating patients dealing with Parkinson's Disease and this is so exciting. Wordworks2001, I am so happy to hear that you had a positive result with LSVT BIG! Keep it up!

Dennis, don't give up. Go to the LSVT global website and educate yourself on the treatment. I would be happy to help you find local therapists in your area if you are interested in direct face to face treatment in a clinical setting.

I have recently become really quite deaf (from Glue Ear), Have you any experience with using tthe LSVT or any technique for that matter, on someone who cannot hear normal conversation, I am very hard work to talk to. That is would it be wasting the time of all concerned for me to attend such therapy?

I am in the middle of the program at the Parkinson Clinic in Sunnyvale CA. It's terrific - people are remarking on how good I sound. It makes me feel stronger too.

How would you be compensated for the therapy?

Where are you located? I live in Northern Illinois. Do you know of any LSVT therapist in this area? My doctor just recommended this for me three weeks ago! I would be interested, but I don't know about online?? Good question; how would you be compensated? Insurance? we all are from different countries on here and would all have such various insurance coverage! We for example have Aetna and their was no one in this area on our plan! I'm going to right your info down, because I don't think this will be on here for long! You are not suppose to advertise services on here! So I would imagine this will be removed!

Blessings,

Carol

I'd need to hear more before I say that it's for me...or not. I presently use a delayed feedback APP on my iPOD to slow down my speech and reduce blocks. It helps, but it is tough to practice with.

Please know that this was not a post to market my services! I truly am interested in knowing what the interest level is for online therapy. It is unchartered waters for me and I was just wondering what type of need there is and if there are any reports of patients who have used telehealth with good success. As far as compensation, it will vary depending on your provider and whether or not they accept insurance assignment.

How would you be compensated from other countries, for example Europe?

LSVT can not be found here in my area. I'm getting ready to go see a speech therapist but had a hard time finding one actually. So I would be interested I would prefer a one on one in person

The best source for answering any questions relating to LSVT therapy regarding finding a clinician and answering any reimbursement questions would be LSVT global. I am not affiliated with LSVT in any way other than being certified to provide LSVT therapy. They have a data base with all certified clinicians worldwide and can answer any questions. Their website is lsvtglobal.com and they have a contact number on there as well!

I went through the LSVT loud program and it really works. However, you know the old saying "if you don't use it, you lose it" which is what's happpened to me. I am currently working on getting into another program and should know something this week.
